US Employee Medical Coverage change - Blue Cross of TEXAS. Wow.

Finally received an official communication regarding the "upgrade" in medical care for myself, spouse and kids.

Replacing Aetna US with Blue Cross of TEXAS is the word.
Don't they have Blue Cross in Bengalaru or Guyana?
Couldn't they go lower?

I don't work or reside in Texas. And never will.
Not certain any medical providers in my location will honor this BC/BSTX stuff.

Maybe my toddler's immunizations will require traveling 1500 miles for care?

Dental cleaning changed to twice from four a couple ears ago. Costs up benefits down is the trend.

Agree with the you should quit comment. While they are sarcastic I am serious. With variable and long term comp you can get 50% increase. And other employers offer retirement and medical benefits that can exceed EM. Don’t let all the negativity get to you - can market your skills from this place. They just want you to be beaten down and believe this is the only place you can work and support your family.

I’m sure you are so valuable to the company and soooo smart (at least according to you) that there are thousands of companies who will hire you with at least a 50% pay raise, better benefits, and WFH three days a week. Why are you still at Exxon?
