Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Last Thursday of October has typically been a RIF date...Happy Halloween?

Members of many orgs have been impacted the last few years on the last Thursday of October. Definitely some reorgs on the horizon. Should be interesting. Good luck to all!

If the rumors are true that the VSP did not get hit the desired goals, there could be a very significant RIF to make up for it.

True. If you are RIFd and they tell you to train your replacement from a foreign country, don’t. Go out on Short term Disability.

Last Thursday would be a couple days after pulse closes, so that would make logistical sense. Why get feedback immediately after laying someone off. Also meets the 60 day required time-line.

Job market is tough but tired of bad cop good cop management. Exec dir and dir are acting like good cops asking employees to take time off exercise for personal health. Then by their reports who report to, pushes for ppt and task completions and deliveries. I'm ready to leave but hate to go find jobs
