Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Just for giggles and grins..

I decided (for the first time actually) to check out other companies on this site just to see what people were saying about Verizon, T-Mobile etc. And ya know what? the posts are pretty much interchangeable!

I know I’m not exactly posting any late breaking news, but keep it in mind…the devil you know..

In short, the days of employee dedication and company appreciation are long gone. Except for a few major companies I personally know of, they are all the same now.

The times of 30 years and a gold watch are over. Does AT&T su-k, yes but that’s the corporate culture anymore.

Just my two cents, take it with that same value.

I came from VZW. Their culture su-ked about 15 years ago. It was awful. ATT was a breath of fresh air. It su-ks this company went to pot during covid. So many missteps.

I wouldn’t surprised if comment volume is higher for companies with more union workers.

Not trying to be disparaging. I’d say they are more vocal than non-union as they can potentially benefit from like minded complaints.

I have a good friend that works for VZW. It’s not even remotely as toxic as T

Sounds like a StankBot.

AT&T is worse than all of them.

Left Att and went to a company that wasn’t on this board and night and day. It isn’t the culture everywhere just yet anyway. Guess Verizon and t-mobile ceos got Harvard training too.

I always check the layoff boards for companies I’m interviewing. The 2 offers I’m juggling have minimal or no activity.

OP here - don’t get me wrong, I am not sticking up for or trying to marginalize the level of cr-p where we work, just making an overall observation for what it’s worth.

The two previous comments I agree, but because of those things mentioned, definetky not apples to apples.

Visit them myself occasionally. Definitely not as busy as this site. Might be due to Verizon being basically a wireless company West of the Mississippi (although the recent repurchase of Frontier gives them more headaches). However they did install a lot of fiber in those metro areas before they originally sold it to Frontier. T-Mobile is basically nonunion and not saddled with a lot of old infrastructure to manage and maintain.
