Hoping someone has already navigated these waters. Ended time with T almost 18 months ago. I’ve been taking advantage of COBRA. As I live in CA I’ve been thinking I get 3 years of COBRA. I’m starting to hear that’s not true as T isn’t based here.
Anyone worked this out one way or the other?

If you are even remotely broke, you will be eligible for Medi-cal (free healthcare) and shouldn't be paying for Cobra. The fact that you've been buying the incredibly expensive Cobra tells me all I need to know.....
Isn't COBRA coverage BRUTALLY expensive? Find another job, man.
Easy solution: get a job that provides health insurance. It's probably way cheaper that Cobra anyway.
Your legs, your work to do.
"When Federal COBRA ends, eligible employees can buy 18 months additional health coverage under Cal-COBRA."
Thx. But there appears to be an exception when an employee is covered by an out of state plan.
Just wondering if anyone has done the legwork already to determine whether ca Employees are covered by a ca plan or an out of state plan.

Sounds like there's something called Cal-Cobra. I'm not in CA, so IDK. You'd need to contact your health plan, or if you're still not sure contact California Department of Managed Health Care at (888) 466-2219.
Cobra is 18 months no matter what state you are in.
