Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Thoughts on q3 results???

With the q3 results out, what are your thoughts??? Will there be more VSPs or RIFs and if so what departments do you think will or should get hit?? Any chance Loyalty/Care/Tech or other departments get hit?

When will this end? It appears the company is not slowing down on the excessive layoffs. Thousands of talented people are being laid off constantly while also offering VSP... What is the end goal? I was laid off in April & am having a really hard time finding a job.. the market is not really good right now. When will this devastation to so many at VZW stop??

Just look at the numbers. Verizon buys Trac (a wildly successful MVNO) with 22 million customers for $7Billion dollars. Verizon then proceeds to let go of all the Trac talent that made that company what it was and brings in the Verizon Top Talent to instill the Verizon way. This strategy has resulted in a loss of 6 million customers as we now have 16M customers. Please tell me how this strategy makes sense. Verizon's leaders are clueless as to how prepaid operates. The company has no strategy and they let go of everyone that knew how Trac operates. Good luck recovering....

Hans and the leadership team are like overhyped TV ads for a really bad movie. The more they proclaim how good things are, the more you know they aren't. One analyst on the call yesterday pressed Hans on Frontier cash flow and he couldn't provide a straight answer. Down down goes VZ.

The logo now has yellow in with the red. Since we’re more like Sprint these days, it makes sense to have some yellow now.

Wait so the ugly new logo didn't fix the company's problems? I'm shocked.

Call center representatives should be hit. They’ve allowed they work to be outsourced due to failing to RTO.

Verizon is down, and it's honestly a mess.
There are two types of people in the world:
The 'stuckors' and the 'stuckees.'
And I'm definitely the stuckee.
Maybe I'll live long enough for the dividends to help me break even

Flat earnings and revenue, small drop in stock, after a big rise the past couple months. No biggie, slow and steady is fine given my pay and benefits. You haters are all wrong, we'll be back up soon enough. This company treats those who work hard and seek opportunities very well. Don't be lazy, get out and find something new here when you get the chance!

This is the best time for Vz employees to purchase that starter, second, third, or even vacation home given you have complete security in your current position and potential for upward mobility for the next 20, 30, or 40 years. Verizon is like family, right?

As of noon stock is down 4%, still not good direction from all of those top executives. Just bla bla blah. Stock moves by actions not just talk.

Hans has stated that Verizon will have "disciplined growth". Translated, that means cuts and more cuts. More RIFs are coming, yes indeed.
