Aren't you supposed to get 2 weeks' notice when you get laid off?

Sometimes depends on your level of system access.
It’s become the norm that after you receive notice you’re on payroll for two more weeks, thanks McElfresh for that. It used to be six weeks so you could attempt to find another position within the company but he said, “there are no other jobs to be had” so it’s now two weeks.
It actually depends getting fired isn't getting laid off
For managers surplussed yes.
Unless you’re fired, then no.
Nope. They can walk you out that day. Two-weeks is generally for employees giving notice. However, many times T will keep you on payroll for a couple weeks and then about 45 days for receiving severance.
Welcome to Wal-Mart! Just in time for the holiday season.
Turns out the answer is No if you take home a company vehicle that isn't assigned to you.
