From the article:

"Indeed, a 2019 Google study for the Pentagon's Defense Innovation Board (DIB) indicated it would take roughly 13 million transmitters and $400 billion to deliver 100 Mbit/s to 72% of the US population using 5G in mmWave spectrum. That's because each mmWave transmission site can only cover a few thousand feet, and each one of those sites can cost tens of thousands of dollars or more."

How bout that?!? Just as the sad Swede and sychophants were dismantling and discarding its competitive fiber optic edge to focus on best way to make square heads fit into round holes, Google already had the answer! It is also interesting it is at this point that the company abandoned it's peak post paid positioning to sell prepaid and value. Was this supposed to be all about "equity" or something or a plan by competitors to destroy the company?

It will be interesting to see what happens Jan 21st when companies shipping work out of the country, and/or replacing US workers with non-US employees find themselves in the crosshairs. VZ may find themselves near the top of that list, should anyone whisper in the correct ears, and shed a bit of light on the subject.

Part of the Lowell/Hans disaster that is ruining the company. Millimeter Wave is completely useless and everyone who wasn't drinking the kool-aid could see it.

Fixed wireless/5G Home is a net loser financially.

In general, 5G has no ki-ler app and has been a complete bust.

The ROI on mmwave is great! For every cell site there is one 5G home customer paying $35. Their Internet will work as long as it doesn't rain lol. Return on investment is 10000 years.

Everything about that guy, his friends who put him in charge, and their ideas from 'mm Wave 5G' to DEI and Green New Scam has been nothing but fraud, failure, and more American jobs lost. The only thing keeping this fraud his lieutenants, and adjutants afloat is the underlying utility nature of the business. Just like the sun comes up in the morning, there will be a dial tone in the customer's ear regardless of which incompetent internationalist inhabits the chairman's office. Where it shows up is in customer care. Only Americans care about top notch customer service.

This is what happens when you hire a failed Ericson AP Accountant / CEO and make him CEO of the largest US wireless telecom. The Board and their buddies at that black rock company really need to be sued for creating this mess. The company knew almost from the beginning that there was NO efficacy in using mm waves for broadband. Total fraud and this was pointed out to the execs from the beginning.
