Tesla hasn't qualified for the $7500 credit in years. They passed the cap a long time ago. Which of why Elon is now against the credit.

GM debt 82bil vs Ford debt 160bil

Basically the f family would have lost their trust fund shares if f went bankrupt, so they went and borrowed a sh-t ton and fired a wholelotta honest employees just to hang on
