Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Dear john and Jeff - we’d love to love you again

John and Jeff you both have found yourself in scenarios where you’re making 20 to $30 million a year… You have two options at feet that is option one.) You can keep on the your same path and find yourselves at the lowest of ranks of CEOs and CEOO’s who have ever lived and you’ll be hated by not only 160 thousand employees but the 300,000 retirees as well or, and a big OR, you can make the exact same amount of pay and allow us level twos and ones to have the one major benefit every single person who is a working adult wants and that is worked from home!! Imagine yourself being on Forbes listed as the modern company CEOs loved by their employees who are champions of the middle-class - while making the exact same pay. All you have to do is champion our work life balance - and btw - we are all happy to go in the office for meetings (those that NEED to be in person) as needed… but please stop kicking us while we’re down… we have mortgages and car payments and college for our kids to pay for… and we are happy to keep our meager pay that is less than 1 damn percent of what you guys make. Just let us be human adults who want to focus on our families and take a couple thousand dollars a month to feed and house our families home… and we’ll continue supporting your open checkbook and your corporate jets. Just step back for 2 minutes and realize, we don’t want your life! We want ours and we are happy to fund yours… if you fund ours.

OP - I feel you, I really do, but these people John and Jeff are the true example of dark triad personality. They cant help it. They may not be clinically disordered but seeing how they act and talk indicates high levels of these toxic traits thus creating a toxic or damaging environment in everything that they do. The goal is to get rid of people regardless of the consequences for the others. Use people as a mean to an end and disregard their well-being.

“Getting rid of unneeded workers. It's called running a business.”

  • Jeff, I am so disappointed in your response! Avoiding overpaying and under executing on acquisitions is what got us into the hole. Laying us all off to pay for those bad decisions is not going to solve any problems. Sorry, but you guys made the mistakes, NOT US!! And I’ve saved the company over $300M in 8 years - getting rid of people like me is not going to save you anything… you’re just going to keep the bad people you’re referencing! Just take a minute and put yourself in the shoes of really good WFH employees! For the love of god - please!

Are you stupid OP?
Debt must be paid. Money is needed to pay it. Laying people off will pay debt and raise the share price. Therein lies the incentive. The bi--hes will be richer which is why they don’t care if they are hated. They need to at least pretend to lay people off nicely in hopes of disarming the thousands of disgruntled employees that might otherwise physically harm them out in the wild. Personally, I hope they run out of gas in their limo right outside a ghetto or in the seedy part of a sanctuary city, with the only cell tower coverage available being T Mobile.

The sayings of the poster is said in good way.
I for one have scooter payment and am needing of the monies from company.
If there is voting as in US election days, I and bride will vote the John and peoples to leave the office of AT&T. Those peoples have done nothing of good and made the life of many, many of families so very bad. It is shame on them the doings. I saw the guy on the Dallas office and I look very close on him. That f-king guy make the all of lunchroom with anger when he arrive with the smug. Bad guy to all the bones.

It’s not like they’d make any more money if they lay all of us off… simple math = make $30 m hated or make $30m loved…. Even if the math is that you could make $10-20m more in a bonus for laying us off… they’d make 10x that getting to stick around for another 5-10 years. If they keep this path… no way they keep their jobs after the layoffs

It’s be so nice to have a CEO and COO who are on the Forbes list for being champions of their employees.. instead of having the same guys be hated by everyone and everyone be miserable… we’d ki-l it for these guys if they could just figure out that we’ll do that as soon as they start looking out for us! We didn’t decide on these mergers that ki-led our debt ratios - they did… and that’d be ok if we could just have the singular benefit of working from home.
