Here’s a whopper for the weekend

Was in a presentation focused on high-level corporate strategy this week and right there in PowerPoint it said we want to be the best employer. No joke.

Practically s_it my pants when I saw that one. Only other line about it in the deck was about creating a high performance culture and some other corporate speak nonsense.

We really need to dr-g test some execs because if they think what they are doing will make T a best-in-class employer they must be high.

Sounds like a lot of words to describe overpaid BLOAT. While high performing L2’s are getting surplussed for not being in a desired location, meanwhile we have high paid AVP’s with zero directs, creating useless “best employer” presentations? Are you f’ing serious right now? Make it make sense. This is embarrassing.

What do you mean AVPs with 1-2 direct reports? The cadence in Corporate Strategy, partnerships and development is very different from other divisions. Even a CoS to the COO becomes an AVP at this level of the org.

Delusional. Thats what they are. If they think this is it, boy are they wrong. Nobody will work here at this rate. Not the talent they are seeking. Ok follow Google, twitter, Amazon, Apple , meta. Do they even realize how hard it is to get hired at those companies? What the actual talent that works there looks like? We’ve had folks leave here and go work at some of these places get 3-5x pay increases. Not to mention the pay and benefits for the most basic workers there would make a VP jealous. Total comp packages of $300-500k for basic middle of the road talent there, not a VP, just a basic manager. The top talent there makes way more. I knew some making $million or more and they were not a VP or Director. Not to mention for years how those culture and benefits were renowned. ATT you have no clue. Results there was the name of the game, didn’t matter your hours or where you were on campus or if you were at home. People actually wanted to be at those campuses because that’s where the fun stuff happened.
