"No layoffs at all in Model e today..."
WTF is this? Yeah that's because they're going to handle you all at once. Lol

No layoffs at all in Model e today.
@1ruv+1vEYiCXK did you not read this thread?
Nothing happened today as mentioned!
"And Ford refuses to rehire them even for job openings they have had open for..."
This is one of the most asinine things about the process. They are literally excluding themselves from a qualified employee if they skill up. GM does this too. Just hire back as contract if you must go back. People do it all the time. Ford plays stupid games they win stupid prizes.
“Friends, never confuse "layoff" with "fired". Ford does not layoff salaried employees. … Salaried employees get fired.”
And Ford refuses to rehire them even for job openings they have had open for months and months and months and that they have the exact education and experience for.
I don’t recall Ford doing these stealth layoffs previously. I’ve know. Ford to do larger layoffs and the departments were given an all clear when it was done. Now we get to live on the edge of will I get the axe today, this week, this month, this year? Not a good way to live.
I sympathize with those that have been let go. What I have less sympathy for is the sentiment that it was some kind of surprise. You work for an automotive OEM. Take this as a lesson and know that these things go in cycles. If you haven't grown your emergency fund to 3-6 months at a minimum, take this as that lesson. You'll get another job, yes it's a little more difficult but you'll find work. The scared and the angry comes from not being prepared mostly. Make sure you are next time or you'll be right back in that situation again.
Hang in there. Lots of people should be expecting the same. To those still around, don't bother asking management LL6+. They cannot help you. You think they would tell you if more cuts were coming and show thier hand? They want you to work right up to the last day. Stop thinking you are safe, you're not.
“Absolutely no warning or early indicators. WTH? They could have given me time to move out to a different role. Really saddened by this. Ford is all I know.”
Same happened to me in 2023. There were openings I knew of that I could have at least applied for if they had given me any clue. Almost 10 years with the company.
I hope anyone who is considering taking a job at Ford Motor Company reads this and understands how poorly you will be treated.
Another one laid off from IT. Absolutely no warning or early indicators. WTH? They could have given me time to move out to a different role. Really saddened by this. Ford is all I know...
I'm not "claiming" to be laid off, I was. Connected Vehicle. troll away but that's the truth. I'm scared and I'm angry.
Over the last few weeks, I personally know four people who were let go. Various leadership levels & divisions (connected vehicle, marketing, global dealer engagement). Rumors they were performance related but most were highly tenured (19+years). Seems like they're purposely terminating a small number each week to avoid any public disclosures. It's like death by a thousand cuts. Do they really think this is motivating folks to work harder?
Troll... No layoffs. Ford is lean and mean!
Ok Karen. Miss your meds this morning? Ge-z
everyday is another layoff day, get your a-s* off and do something
Friends, never confuse "layoff" with "fired". Ford does not layoff salaried employees. Layoffs may happen to UAW represented employees, typicall by seniority. Salaried employees get fired. The differences are not subtle.
For those of you who claim to be "let go" yesterday, were you contract or Ford Employee? I've been with the company for many years and have numerous LLx contacts in various organzations and none of them said anyone was separated yesterday. What area (other than IT) are you claiming to be from? If it was just IT, I would have expected a larger number.
So sorry to hear that you were laid off. I can empathize.
It's about time for Ford to do some house cleaning to be more efficient and profitable.
I do not expect any layoffs in Model e. Recent Town Halls and management level meetings have not mentioned any layoffs in the near future. We are already a very efficient organization, we need more resources to deliver the company transformation, not less.
They seem to be using the SBD (silent but deaedly) method.
I got laid off yesterday in IT. No warning.
Happy Thanksgiving, Ford.
Yesterday there were stealth layoffs in Product Development. 3 of my direct hire employees were let go.
