Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Do any of you actually have time to search for other jobs?

I can’t remember when was the last time I left work when I’m supposed to. I just come home and drop dead. It’s also near impossible to find some time during work hours. I would love to at least have a look at job opportunities. I just don’t know when, nor do I have any energy left when there's an opening once in a while.

I was laid off & that’s all I do is look for jobs, apply to jobs, have a few phone screens that go no where with incompetent recruiters.

It’s your own fault you work that many hours. No reason to work more than 40. Maybe 45 max. Set some boundaries and take ownership of how much you give a company that doesn’t give a sh-t about you.

Just joint an Employee Resource Network or mentoring program. Job opportunities will start pouring in.

This company is a big joke!

Do I have the time to search for other jobs?

I have multiple hours a day to search for jobs. I've been sending out applications for months with zero response, even jobs I'm obviously a fit for. The most traction anything got was 2 months of "being considered" for one particular hiring system.

It's a terrible time to look for a job.
Companies are posting jobs to pretend there's demand for workers but don't want to hire anyone.
Open positions are flooded with automated application systems and crafted resumes to beat the filters, so it's impossible to stand out.
Everyone is bullsh-tting on their resume, so a job you're overqualified for will likely go to some underqualified applicant who is a better bullsh-tter than you.

Personally, I'm doing the bare minimum to meet expectations until my job is downsized in the next 1-2 years. I've already seen the deck where we will report under a different structure and there's a battle for who gets to do our job. I've got time to relax and wait for my paid job search.

Workers from the biggest and 2nd biggest countries on earth usually do not start working until they graduate, unlike many of us. This gives them the appearance highly skilled, and usually better schools.

For me, commute to work, work, commute from work, school work, and no time to sleep.
interview? highly skilled ones get all the jobs I interviewed so far, so lucky.
