COU will be used to Track RTO

By far the easiest way to utilize tech to create a Geofence at your designated office address and track hours in office. Not here to argue just speaking facts.

Why? Why do people have COU?? If you are online 8 hrs per day working, and can be contacted via laptop, why do you need COU? I never understood that. Do you feel special carrying around an extra phone?

Not everyone has a COU. Some of us leave them in the office at night. RFIDs in the IDs would be the logical thing to do.

No COU, no problem……next bright idea? Maybe chip us like dogs?

Active RFID in badges. Require individual swipe in/out. Termination for tailgating to avoid a sensor. Professional solutions ARE available.

“ Badge swipes are the only way to accurately measure in RTO that's what will be used, until someone hacks the badge DB ... after that we may be chipped like dogs..”

No, my manager confirmed that they are looking at COUs and IP information. There’s a report you can check, but it isn’t accurate.

This is just some speculation and no that's not how it will work. Since any genius with half a brain would understand that doing that would mean the COU could be left in different locations at different times and people would exploit, that I would just leave the phone in the office and have all my calls forwarded to some IP phone or such.

Serious question here - which locations have GEOFENCING? how do they do this if location service is off? What about if you don’t use WiFi?

Also what about if you take half day vacation- are they matching your vac days with the GEOFENCING?

“BS POST No one on my team has a COU other than my manager. We were asked if we wanted one, and everyone declined”

Any device with a SIM card can be used to create a geofence and tracked… Your laptop is on COU, IPad etc… There’s a reason they are being particular about what about office you actually report to and it needs to match. It’s not because of VPN tracking it is soon to be because of tracking via geofence.

Why are employees trying to rig the system on RTO? Just get to the office like the rest of us.

There's no phone on my desk. All landlines have been removed.

you don't need a phone or cou, you have a teams phone #, put that in webphone, and people can call your laptop

Here's an easy solution if this is really something that will be installed on our COU: Get a Faraday bag and only take your COU out of it at the office. They will never see it coming or going.

Mine is from a previous position. Most of my group doesn't have them. I assume if it ever breaks, it won't get replaced.

Not everyone has a COU, and not everyone who has one has a requirement to take them home and be available after hours...

Assigned but unannounced physical floor monitors will continue to serve as the most accurate presence reporting.
