Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Other Telecoms are focused on being the best provider. T focused on badge swipes and LAN time, treating employees like prisoners.

T’s leadership’s only focus is making sure the presence report shows you swiped and sat for 8 hours 5x a week. You’re sick and can’t make it in? Better have a signed doctor’s note.

These “executives” have no real vision/direction/motive to drive new growth, so they want to make you so miserable you quit to maintain margins for the street. The amount of focus and wasted cycles on RTO is insane.

This RTO distraction is at the front of everyone’s mind all day long and is just crushing any ounce morale left. Instead of finding new revenue streams, or focusing on being the best provider over VZ and TMO the only thing anyone thinks about is RTO. Just listen to employees conversations in the halls. The only “collaboration” is expressed mutual feelings of hate and concern regarding leadership and the numerous bad decisions they continue to make. This place is toxic, and a sinking ship.

It’s a sick manipulative game, and this leadership will not be remembered well in history. VZ and TMO will poach the best T employees because of the real flexibility they offer, and they have actual goals they strive to hit other than reducing the headcount through manipulative tactics. Thats not sustainable.

I know of bargained-for non-exempt non-management union office employees who are allowed to work from home and will continue to be allowed to work from home in 2025.

There is nothing the telecoms can do. doesn't matter which one. The stores have been empty for years now. Leave the industry and join the army. Join the navy. You won't loose your job and will have the best benefits for life. telco is crashing.

AT&T workers can't be trusted so much verification is needed.

Let’s be honest. Like EVERYTHING else that has failed, Stank doesn’t care about the wireless business. He dropped to 3rd, no one cares about 6G with McSelfish even making a joke about it. They are perfectly pleased with 3rd.
Now he’s putting all faith into Fiber which is just a matter of time before that tanks.

Meanwhile he’ll keep slashing jobs and people so the balance sheet looks brighter than his failures.

RTO has you so sc--wed up that you can’t identify as a functional human anymore. You need to grasp that you have no future and no chance at changing your circumstances.

"True, I just interviewed with VZ and they said there’s been an influx of T resumes"

Now 2 Telecoms don't want you, and the year isn't over yet.

Blind is very active too.
People need to post negative reviews with their experiences on GlassDoor, Blind and other sites.
Spread the news, make the company toxic.

The fun thing is no one is going to want to work here. All an incumbent need do is search on AT&T + Layoffs. This is by far the most active board with arguably the worst CEO in history.

“All of you “pro-RTO” trolls are walking dungheaps.”

It’s one or two paid actors who post continuously, if you notice the vocabulary and terms are basically the same every point across many different threads.

They delete cookies and go into private browser mode to down vote posts.

It’s not many people, no one I’ve talked to on the array of teams I communicate with are positive about this stuff except for maybe the odd weird boomer project manager (uneducated non-technical).

No one thinks this is a good idea.

Clipped the following comment from the Verizon layoff board

“RTO debacle? What debacle? Almost everyone signed on here to report to & work in an office 5 days a week. Now you can play on your phones and shop all day at work instead of doing it at home, in addition to doing your laundry, several daily extended trips to Chipotle, Starbucks, hot yoga, spin class, shooting hoops in your driveway and washing your car on company time lol. Not anymore. Play time is over. Well, just a little bit less so. Good riddance.”

Read the memo Dell sent ordering its sales staff back to the office 5 days a week.

Other businesses, check that - all successful businesses, do not treat employees, customers and shareholders like an enemy. Only Toxic-T and the Stink that runs Toxic-T as his personal piggy bank.

If people abused WFH then why do others still offer it?

Results against goals are the only thing which should matter. You either produce or you don’t. Let’s not pretend sitting in the office will magically change the outcome. You either produce results or you don’t. Stop drinking the Kool Aid

Bingo. Nobody is working as that’s not the metric we are getting measured by, just hours in office. Everyone needs to game that mess as hard as they can to make the inaccurate reports blow up and the data trash. Bad data makes any report worthless. Let’s make that data as muddy as possible.

People ridiculously abused WFH. Stop pretending that didn't happen. And look at the stock price.

True, I just interviewed with VZ and they said there’s been an influx of T resumes. They only require 6-8 days per month.
Somehow we think we need 5 days a week to compete.
