Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Anyone know why T hates their employees so much

Is it because we (the underlings) could not excecute on the WB and DTV mergers and caused the debt of the company to not realize in any monetary gains? Or is that that Bleek Rock owns the company and wants to boost up the Reel estate and surrounding economy?

ATT hates people with Disabilities, all of the "accommodations" they preach are to appease and give the public the illusion they care. They use clever "relocation" techniques to justify moving you, and if you don't, they consider you a quitter. Now I'm in my 60s, have multiple disabilities, and have been working at home for over a decade, pre-COVID, and am being told to move (out of state) or be fired. There are tons of people in my local office with the same org reporting and titles, but they twist it however they can to match their schema. The HR documentation of retirement is there for the lucky few who are kept, so they can say some do retire. But don't you forget it. I know people who were given the ax with cancer and are on the block with brain tumors and other issues. They know we will cost more to keep, there's some warm kindness, right? Buy T-Mobile, the future of Mobility and your lifestyle. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I am an employee and I hate the employees. Always complaining and trying to bring the rest of us down. Keep your bitterness to yourself.

T would love their employees if they were free. It's the expense they don't like.

Why not leave if you are so unhappy?

Less workers mean more (ill gotten) gains for those avaricious Machiavellians.

I am thankful for AT&T. 30+ years. $5.5M net worth. No debt. About time to wrap things up. 6 months severance + 6 months subsidized health care ("package") would be a nice going away present... Given AT&T loves me, I think it may happen.

Stanks bonus is tied directly to headcount reduction metrics. That’s why.

1 exec bonus = 100 FTE HCT. That’s why they hate you. They need you to leave.

The truth is that the WB, DirecTV, and that goofy flop Xandr was never going to amount to anything. Randall Stephenson spent his tenure building something that wasn't going to work. He retired as soon as it was obvious a decade's worth of work and billions down the toilet were a complete waste of time. The Company doesn't want you working here anymore, and don't want to pay you to leave. Their solution is to treat you like garbage until you give up and quit.
