Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

WFH is here to STAY

Please stop the RTO rumors. It will not happen. Give it a rest and don't post that RTO will be five days a week. The WFH deniers will not rest as long as anybody is WFH. Also note that there were many people WFH before COVID.....

It’s true WFH staff will not be RTO. This was planned all along. Makes getting rid of all the dead weight that much easier. One day soon many of you will be greeted by a message from your supervisor when you log in for the day. The message will let you know your job is going away in the next 60 days. How do I know. Because it’s happening in both VZ and FTR and the closer the companies get to becoming one again. The rate of WFH people will be back to what it was circa 2010. Start brushing up on your resumes WFH people. I’m sure there’s an Amazon call center that can use your “talents”.

Absolutely! With Verizon bringing all the OSP techs back into the fold that actually work and maintain the plant. These misguided WFH people thing their positions invaluable.
Fact is, VZ and Frontier will clear out most of them before the merger date to offset the techs. All without skipping a beat. If I were a WFH person. I’d be trying to figure out a way to RTO. Out of sight, out of mind are the easiest heads to roll.

There is no office wtf are you talking about force people back to an office and watch your absence rate increase 1000% most people here have 25 ➕️ which means full pay disability for 1 year.

Stress is real
Anxiety is real
Depression is real
That's why you get WELLNESS TIME. So just 1 simple move like RTO will cost the company $$$$$$$$$$ and it's in No position to play with shareholders value on anything negative that can affect the stock.

The RTO rumors are coming from jealous union boomers that have to go out in the freezing cold to do put two pieces of wires together. Keep grinding it out on those pole and in those holes union dregs while I type on a keyboard in my pajamas.

I think people are nervous because our biggest competitor has moved to 5 days in-office. So people are assuming we will follow along.

I was WFH since 2003, and back in June there was no exception to the back in office 2 days a week requirement for everyone. Absolutely no exception, even if you lived hours from the office. I worked the majority of my career WFH, but the winds shifted. I took VSP because I saw the writing on the wall. I guess some could get lucky.

Yes, employees that have been WFH pre-Covid should stay. But for the call center representative that got hired to be in the office should RTO. Otherwise you risk being outsourced and your pay changed.

I've been WFH since 2003, yes more than 20 years. I have been delivering and never had an issue. My work is never questioned and I always exceed my objectives. WFH gives me the ability to concentrate without all of the distractions. Plenty of people like me in the company.
