For some reason I can't get my retiree A plan to work... you would think they would be sending me all kinds of discount codes to sell some vehicles. Just as well as I would never buy a new vehicle again.

this one is particularly painful. it's not just ford suffering from lackluster EV sales. i like how they said "they did everything right" with the lightning except whiffed on the XL (extra low) model price estimate. everything can be right but if the price is too high, no go.

@1qtq+1vLXmHxa: Isn't Edge an acronym for "Engine Dies at Great Expense"? That vehicle line was included in an engine valve recall on 2.7- and 3.0-liter EcoBoost engines. There was also an earlier warranty extension for internal coolant leakage that could destroy the engine. One of my neighbors got a new long block installed at Ford's expense under that extension. Shortly after the work was completed, she traded her Edge in on a Bronco Sport.

@1zks+1vLXmHxa GM too. Google "Stabilitrak problems." Ford's version is RSC Roll Stability Control. Or used to be. Can't even make a simple autobrake system right and they expect us to trust them to build self driving cars? No way. "They" = traditional automotive. Too many MBAs.

The obvious thought is missing with the posts here. There is a now valuable and respected leader available to join Ford to get the company transformation back on track. BF/DF, are you listening?

@1djb I was in the market for a vehicle last winter and looked at F150's. A/Z-plan was $80,000. Let me repeat that..... Eighty THOUSAND dollars. It could have zero recalls, a wet bar, a satellite tv and a symphony orchestra and I still wouldnt shell out that kind of money for a truck.

"I disagree. Ford made and still makes some great vehicles. People love the Bronco, F-150 and Mustang."

Broncos and F-150s are stacking up at dealers. Where's the love? When we can't sell F-150's....that's a hint there's not just small issues ahead.

I disagree. Ford made and still makes some great vehicles. People love the Bronco, F-150 and Mustang. They used to love the Taurus and Fiesta but bad management got rid of these best sellers.

Problem is not bad cars but poor decisions by the leadership.

Stellantis and Ford both have something in common, they both make s-h-i-t-t-y vehicles loaded with defects
