Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I Have Tried Everything

Has anyone had any luck getting a WFH accomodation? Daycare costs are just too much in my area. I also coach my older kids travel soccer team and our practices are at 230, hasn't been an issue until now. Any help is much appreciated.

No. I have cervical dystonia and chronic migraine. Instead of WFH they are giving me a new chair and a quiet/dark workspace in the office. Though, I have yet to see that actualize.

They hate to hear all the whining about work from home because they can do nothing about it. This comes from the very top.

I would like to know if said accomodate does applies to employee of India. Confirmation is requested to receive similar policy for I and team. I and said team have many times ask of receiving same benefit of the united employees but still answers come with blurry.
The reason I would like to know is that such accomodate is needed for the gasses that comes of both of the holes. I must have special diet prepared with many special ingredient. It is for me and also sometimes i share with the small child. How can ai request and receive he non blur from HR?

“ If you are the coach, you set the practice times; make them later…”

Why are you debating with/ and thus encouraging the phony OP? Stop it.

I have IBD and couldn't go 1 hr without soiling my skivvies so I asked to work from home and was told NO. OK.
I show up and bring extra clothes.
I soil the chair, wash down, change my clothes and Rotate the Chair to the other side of the building. Somebody, NOT ME, is sitting in a chair with xx It.
All I can say is figure it out.

If you are the coach, you set the practice times; make them later.

Also, I have had and know many people whose kids participate in travel sports, and NONE of them have practices that early. School isn't even out at that time, unless you have the only roster comprised solely of homeschoolers. Heck, most of the elite teams I know actually have later practice times to accommodate athletes who travel to practices since the roster is actually comprised of kids who are good enough to be on a travel team.

To the person who said their father died (or to anybody else who might need this), you are entitled to five days of bereavement leave for deaths in the family. I forget how "family" is defined but certainly a parent is included. Sure, five days might not be enough, but people should be aware of this.

Don’t feed the troll people. OP is the same guy with the pro RTO stuff in every post. He’s a sad, pathetic slob that just gets his jollies from posting the extreme contrary opinion of the masses. Don’t give him the attention he so badly craves with this nonsense.

"An email from the attorney to the SVP of the Business Unit would get an accommodation moving very quickly."

Yep. Start getting these wallflower managers into deep legal issues. Watch them squirm. Also may give you some extra level of legal protection from surplus.

Thanks for the laugh. Maybe talk to your supervisor about switching to part time status. WFH is not a substitute for babysitting.

"WFH is only being given to teacher's pets; not ADA."

Reluctant to post anything here as the OP is just trolling, but with regard to the statement above ---IF TRUE, and there is a legitimate disability not being accommodated, a lawyer should be contacted immediately, because that is flat out illegal. An email from the attorney to the SVP of the Business Unit would get an accommodation moving very quickly.

This sounds like "why" work from home is being discontinued. Taking care of kids and coaching soccer on the company clock.

I asked for an exception because my Father died and I was crying all day and couldn’t stop. I tried grief support and therapy but I could not overcome the sorrow in a 3-5 day period over a weekend. I slipped into depression. I still did my work but it was difficult to smile and engage with my co-workers while they held ice cream socials. I found myself being alienated even more. They say it’s a social including after work gatherings but really they are taking attendance to see who really wants to be a team player. I’m sorry I lost my will to laugh for now. I’m sorry that all I want to do is brave the traffic and cry on the way home. I’m sorry that I am no longer happy go lucky while I am grieving. One day you will understand but for now, march on with your tone deafness. You know who you are.

lol I will say I am a huge fan of WFM especially with having young children. However with that said, you’re insane to think they support you having kids at home while working. But to coach travel soccer lmaoo buddy grow up and accept those days are over

They don't care. My coworker has degenerative disk diseases and stenosis. Not supposed to drive for long periods. They dont care.

WFH is only being given to teacher's pets; not ADA.
