Magic number 72

Does VZ still have that formula when you reach 72 (years of service plus age) you will receive full pension if you are RIFed. Thank you Good Folks.

@5nij There are managers who still have a pension. They have been frozen since 2006 but many had enough time in the company to keep the pension.

Pension and Rif do not go together.....those who have pensions do not get Rif....

One has nothing to do with the other. Nonsensical statement.

It’s the rule of 76. Years of service and age. Or 30 years regardless of age.

I’m pretty sure it’s 76. Go on net benefits. And look. It will tell your your earliest service pension date

No. A RIF only brings it down from 75 to 73 points for age + years of service. This is in the most current severance SPD in BenefitsConnection > Library.

All "72", the sum of both age and service means is that your "employee discount" goes from 50% to 25% instamatically once you retire!
