Severance package reduction

Boss told us severance package payout is reduced from 2 weeks to 1 week per one year of service. Can someone confirm?

100 percent being cut in half next year, straight from our HR Sr. Exec. Heard January but not certain of that. Absolutely not a rumor.

I was laid off in March and got two months working notice (but did not work) and 12 months severance. Was there 39 years.

This has to be approved by the government oversight groups. It will then be publicly stated. That us what happened when it was changed from 3 to 2 weeks per year of service.

Unlikely. Severance is what keeps former employees from trashing the company. Cutting that time in half would introduce a lot of reputational risk.

Rumors are just rumors until there are facts to back them up. Anything else is just speculation and mean spirited pot stirring.

Just look on teamworks. Also - massive financial updates like that tend to be aligned to the calendar year, so even if there is a change, it won't take effect for the December 10th layoffs, it would be in January.

That said - If the OP is worried because they can be affected, the OP should just look on teamworks. If the OP isn't a WF employee anymore then this is just a troll post anyway.

It’s actually 1 day per year worked. And you only get 1/2 your pay.

Yes. That is the new go forward policy for layoffs starting March 1 or later. It will be spelled out in new handbook.
