Peakon Surveys - just another untruth

Let me preface this by saying I don’t care if my manager or others know it’s my comment. However, the email we receive every quarter states “Your identity is protected”, My manager could easily deduce it’s my comment however my identity is clearly not hidden when they can reply directly to me. I’m sure we all figured this was the case, that it’s not anonymous, but just wanted to share with others that we now have proof of yet another lie the company tells us in case you may not want to comment on the survey for fear of retaliation. I’m sure I’ll be on some list now but I still want to encourage everyone to reply to those surveys honestly. Maybe if enough people provide the same feedback something can be changed in the future. We can all hope. Otherwise, I’ll see you all on the other side when they find some minor infraction to terminate me.

I used to fill out the surveys, but it's gotten so tedious to do (last one was 37 questions) and no changes are ever made, that I've given up doing them. I once hoped the feedback would be a source for change but it appears more as a source to identify disgruntled employees than anything else.

Thanks for the intel. I was just curious because I had somebody tell me otherwise and was curious if this was another nefarious tactic by this horribly run company

I’m a manager. No identifying information is shared with us. We only receive comments and an overall rating for each category - we don’t even see individual ratings.

We have a button under each comment that allows us to type a response. That triggers an email behind the scenes to the person who put in the original comment letting them know that a manager replied. We have no way of seeing who comments or responds at any time.

That said, some employees really need to consider how their comments will be perceived. Is it a valid comment that managers or the company can action? Or are you saying something just to vent. The comments are seen and reviewed all the way up to the C suite. I’m embarrassed for employees who don’t offer any valuable insights into how managers can support them, but instead make blatant claims about how everything and everyone su-ks.

Can any managers here confirm that they are told/ receive a report with respondents names?
I’m not looking for speculation. I also understand that a mgr can make a good guess as to who the comments are from but looking for absolute confirmation.

Tks.

Just give the lowest possible score... since they insist!

Where you say:
I cannot leave just yet due to personal reasons but as soon as I can I will be looking for another, hopefully more healthy, place to work
Amen! That’s me all over as well. I am also over 55 and getting decent pay. What cracks me up is that there are gummy heads here who think it’s just so simple and quick to get a new position. Nope. It is very hard now. And its not a good market right now. Under the new administration coming in, it should improve but that wont be overnight. And yes, that brownstain in the comments here who was calling people lazy / dead as—-ses is exactly what is wrong with BNY right now. That person obviously fits into Robin’s culture of bullies and pests who demand instant service. This place is to be endured not enjoyed.

Former manager here, it was anonymous, however as some snarky response was said below, it wasn’t hard to deduce who it came from. At least from the small team I had under me. It was all bs anyways when I used to do it.

Depending on your manager I’m sure they don’t care about it either.

OP here to reply to some of you. I have no issues with my comments. I know my manager can deduce it’s me. I’m not a “bitter lazy a$$” as someone said. I can understand where the firm is coming from. It’s all about the bottom line and whatever they need to do to get there. The point of my post was to just encourage people to be honest with the hope that someday enough voices are heard. Don’t be the millions of people who don’t vote because they think it doesn’t count. If more people spoke out about the toxicity maybe something can be changed.

They are telling you that you can’t manage. Perhaps instead of being spiteful, you should take a hint, hold your nose and look in the mirror.

Just give absurdities for comment answers. I did. It’s fun. Things like Hood’s Hamilton was the answer to everything! Acne, more Pepe Roney, Hustle!, bad clams, shazam, what is a client ?

I stopped playing the game over a year ago. These surveys are only used to decide what benefits/perks to remove next. I don’t review my team surveys either. Cannot help them, so why bother wasting my time.

Just pick a number for each question but never write any comments or explain yourself

We cant see names but its not rocket science in figuring out who it is by the way you talk or what you commented. Dead give away sometimes and i reply so my folks know i know who they are too . Bitter , lazy as--s

The numerical scores are completely anonymous. Be leery of leaving any comments.

@OP

If you are living in fear of retaliation that is unhealthy and you should not continue in the toxic place. Ask yourself - Why do you continue to work for this firm ?

No one is stopping you from leaving this toxic place. This is not the only firm. If you are continuing here despite the apprehension then there are some benefits that outweighs. So it is a comfort compromise.

About the survey I chose not to answer. Been honest and has not resulted in any changes. So find it useless to spend my energy.

Why do I continue to work here ? Trade offs. When it becomes unbearable I will leave. At present it is not creating the stress. I work and get the pay. I have no loyalty. And I have no obligation to improve the firms policy. Once I feel I can get better pay elsewhere I will leave.

And I am also expecting the same attitude from the firm. No other expectations. It makes life simple and stress free. There are other things I can worry about, need to worry about.

We used to get genuine direct replies from people as high as MD in my business line.

The only replies I got on my last few were generic- please refer to X policy - from some faceless HR person. I complain heartily about everything in them.

OP here - actually now that I’m looking at it again, they may not “know” it’s actually me. The reply came via Peakon again saying that identity is protected. So perhaps they are just able to reply and the system passes it along. But again, still want to encourage everyone to be honest about their working environments in the company. No, my comment had little to do with RTO requirements. More how the company is going about it and using scare tactics and the stress it’s putting on their employees via constant fear of retaliation or being terminated at the drop of a hat.
