Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Don’t listen to what they say, just watch what they do

It doesn’t matter what they say the reasons for RTO are. They just want to use RTO to a maximum to make most of us go away. Any tactics they can use to make the RTO mandate unacceptable or unmanageable have been and will be deployed. The more of us just quit, the merrier. If you don’t, they’ll just find other ways to get rid of you for cheap or preferably for free.

Jan 6th - "let's get ready to rumble"!!!!

I expect a lot of fights over seats and parking: bloody chiclets everywhere. They should make this a reality show.

Don’t worry no seat, more layoff will coming in next year. T increase buyback and layoffs FTE at the same time, it imply CEO wants to boost stock price and his stock options. No one care FTE only care their own money!

Watch what they do:

If their lips are moving, they are lying.
If their lips are not moving, they are thinking up their next lie.

They fill up their bank accounts between golf outings. In the Stink's case, between head polishings and pajama parties.

Stink is the worse POS in US CEO history! Quite the accomplishment for a POS!

I would like to said that I to have not received sense of belonging.
Ever since such time I and team have come to att to do the codings, we have said feeling of not to belong, As lead of said team, i give the advice to said team for each to bring item from home to receive the feeling of belonging. Now the whole team feels the belong. Fatima bring the favorite pet stuffing of monkey. Amit has the small statue buddah of the desk. Sahil has blanket covering from crib days and Madhav arrive to office with jellybeans. (he says to me he eats one bean of jelly each of the times he hears word of defect). Now I can confirm that I and said team have now received feelings of belong. Now at such time, I give same advice for all to bring same.

"Spend 8 hours of your day 5 days a week at a desk that isn’t yours and you don’t get to have a sense of belonging." Nail. On. Head. That is why they will lose a ton of productivity. If you have to be in the office 5 days per week, you need a "home" to come into. You have a sense of belonging. If every day you walk into the office and have to find a place to work and likely it will not be the same place you worked at yesterday, you feel like a vagabond. If that is the way you feel, you won't feel like you want to really work for the company and will do the minimum your job requires of you and no more. It's actually quite dystopian. If you never have a sense of belonging then you don't belong to the company and you will not act like you have a sense of purpose there. No sense of purpose, slave to the grind. People need to feel like they belong and have a sense of purpose. If they don't, they will trudge along without any care for the work they do or the people they work for or with. Sad.

Stop being surprised. They want to force you out so they din't have to pay severance They just don't care in the least about you. Those closer to us, down a few levels, can't afford to care. Those type get to resign and pursue other challenges.

You are in a form of Mordor and the Eye of Sauron is watching. Understand and then lay it down as you choose. The Dark Triad rules over you. But you decide how to react.

"I’ll be quitting in Jan."

You might want to wait a little bit longer so they do not sc--w you out of the bonus.

"Don’t worry nobody’s in the office at all on Monday and Friday. Just use those seats "

Evidently you didn't get the memo that we're 5 days in office now.

Loved how Corey basically said we're not considered working unless we're in the office. . . . Could you get the TW and international employees in the office too since, clearly, they must not be working at all according to your definition of what 5 days in office is about!

I am so sick of these execs thinking we are d-mb as $h!T sheep. If you see a C-suite's lips moving it means they're lying.

You can’t have an assigned seat, it’s too expensive. Only us important people get to have offices in the C suite.
Spend 8 hours of your day 5 days a week at a desk that isn’t yours and you don’t get to have a sense of belonging. This place is a joke and it’s obvious we are not welcome there.

The assigned seating answer was hilarious. No assigned seating because the entire work force will not be there every day . But ummm it’s 5 days a week. Statistically doesn’t make sense if 3000 people are assigned to a location with half that much parking and desks.

Town hall today and someone asked about assigned seating. Answer was there wouldn’t be and get used to it.

Complete ridiculousness.
