Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Layoff game has changed.

90 plus laid off in IT coming in Jan, outsourced to India. Lots targeted for separation based on reviews. Likely after EOY reviews. Know some people targeted and waiting now

Ford will now target numbers in a smart way throughout the year. Because Jim wants to be like Tesla, a company that builds cars most Americans will never want.

Their Skunksworks team is a failure, wait till the stockholders realize that they cannot deliver their plans, or any of the stupid features customers do not want.

While they keep recruiting externally and paying top dollar for big tech’s undesirables who couldn’t hang 2 years at Amazon or other places.

Bill Ford may actually have to sell his company or watch it die in his lifetime. The fact you can burn 4 billion a year on a failure of an org and leader, when that money could be used to improve your quality and sell cars that people want. But no? You are not even top 10 in EV sales. Get over it! Be Ford again.

Are the stockholders going to stand for this ineptitude?

For those asking how would you know.

You won’t, the leadership is in contact with HR. A tell tail sign is a performance email that is somewhat odd coming from your leader.

If there is a pattern of documented concern this is a sign they are making a case.

There are official docs the leaders can also use to call out performance and create “plans” to address. These are common in many companies, not just Ford.

If you had inconsistent and inconsistent on your mid year, then you are automatically put on a list. Your leader can signal to HR you are on track and get you off their radar, but in many cases, leaders will be encouraged to take steps to “improve behavior”, which is a signal it’s likely not going to end well.

Do not be upset or sad, yes it will be hard at first, but Ford’s culture today is so bonkers and completely devoid of logic. They are losing billions on a business which will never have a return while clinging to subscription pennies.

Ford is likely to be bought or sold in this lifetime the way it’s headed. Most people I talk to who leave seem to be much happier.

How do you know how many people will be laid off? How do people know if they are targeted for separation?

"How guys who don't like to stay can perform!. Better offer package to everyone and fhey decide who go and who stays. If guy insist to go then let go"

Spoken like a true LCC contractor / transplant or employee. Lol..

Ford has ugly looking vehicles that no one wants to buy. Poor quality, unreliable, overpriced. This is why this company will not survive.
