Leadership Webcasts Are Soooo Fake!

Is anyone else tired of these top leadership webcasts? They push these generic platitudes like, “we need to drive more phone growth,” or “premium plans are important to revenue growth,” without giving any context on how to achieve these goals. Then when employees ask intelligent questions about the state of the business, or the path forward, you get these very generic answers, that are fake in nature, and do not give actual direction or visibility to the business imperatives. It’s like leaders do this as a check the box just to show face and make employees feel like they have some level of connection to their top leaders.

since they log your participation, you are better off having the video on but mute the sound. Can always ask a coworker if anything important was discussed due to you having to take an incoming call. Or, just pull up the reply and go to the leader(s) you want to hear from.

You guys don't think our execs have some really impressive, super-top-secret Kung fu, justifying their very, very high salaries and all the money+time wasted in getting all of us to watch them wax philosophical for an hour at a time? I mean "Focus on the customer" and "Grow revenue" and "Finish the quarter strong." WOW... Dontcha think AT&T and TMO wish they had executives with such brilliance? I bet the competition has executives that are afraid to say anything meaningful for which they could be held accountable. You know, afraid to say anything original or embark on a strategy that isn't up their boss's equally-cowardly rectal cavity. They probably just copy the boss's slides and pass this crud on down. Not OUR execs. They are the picture of courage with controversial trailblazing like "Focus on the customer." BTW, the only thing worse than having to listen to drivel from above is coworkers who pretend to be inspired by it, so please fellow V-Teamers, tame the stupid-enthusiasm and demand more from the people that get at least double your salary. ...Or keep lying and putting 5's on every Pulse Survey question. That's been working so well for us all.

I couldn’t agree more. A lot of BS jobs that require BS speak. I don’t know how the world seems to fawn over Hans and his handpicked cronies despite Verizon being worth less today than when he became CEO.
