Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Pension?

Company finally pulls the trigger on canceling the pension. All the high level people finally leave therefore cutting overhead costs, resolving headcount issues, and resolving the ultimate potential bottleneck and 27 levels.

The pension will be canceled at some point. You know KM already has that option planned and ready to go.

I’ve heard people predicting the end of the pension for 25 years now. I remember one disgruntled old engineer telling me the main rationale for the merger in 1999 was to ki-l the pension.

Maybe one day the people predicting the pension’s demise will be proven right … but after decades of failed prediction I’d put these people in the same category as a broken sun dial.

100% already planned scenario and waiting for the right opportunity to finally stop the smoke and mirrors show at minimal consequence.

Guarantee this will happen. Outside executives being tested. Once they are comfortable hiring from outside the justification for keeping the pension will be gone as they will not need to retain anyone
