When I started in 1984 I was told the same thing. True enough, constant layoffs over almost 40 years. You need an internal and external resume at all times.

And here’s an example of the new talent they are bringing in. Already with foot out the door since they got lied to already. To the OP, get out before you get stuck. Lots of stuck people here. There will be plenty of seats by mid year 2025 as folks leave, get laid off and retire. Company is going to lose massive amounts of people in the coming months due to RTO and the 5x mandate, but that’s what they want.

You definitely need to be looking elsewhere and when you find something else tell them you left due to RTO, fears about layoffs, culture, and poor morale.

First of all, they are going to cut the work space by 2/3rds so that they can fit 3 people in the space they used to give to just 1 person. However, do not get to anxious since they cannot increase the number of parking spaces. You will probably save money on mass transit since there will be no place to park your car!
