Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Don’t want to quit AND don’t want to RTO 5 days? You have options:

Work your 8 hours 5 days a week and nothing more. Spend your time in the office socializing. Productivity is a thing of the past. “Collaboration” is all that matters, so treat everyday like it’s a social and don’t be afraid to miss meetings because of it. They make it clear the only thing they are measuring is days and hours you sit in the office.
Also, never stop asking when the TW’s or people outside “hubs” who perform the same function will be joining you in your hub for collaboration.

The company office footprint is not prepared for 5 Days RTO, so make them answer your concerns about working conditions. If nothing changes by 1/6 (which it won’t), take pictures/videos and start filing claims. These offices are not up to par for the ask. They will have to respond to official claims that their office buildings are exceeding capacity set by law.

Don’t spend any money in or around the office. If T wants tax credits because of RTO make sure you don't support any local business around the T building. Bring your own food and drinks, don’t use the vending machines, let the corporate real estate and their overlords blackrock fall.

Since they refuse assigned seating, leave your trash around your desk, to keep it “reserved”. During the day test the structural integrity of your desk, chair, and computer equipment. Before you leave for the day, unplug everything, and sit in a new desk the next day, rinse and repeat.

Use up any and all office supplies, coffee, cleaning products, etc as quickly and as often as you can. Post “Out of Order” signs on bathrooms, vending machines, fridge, water filter, printers, any shared spaces/appliances.

If you drive, take up two parking spots with your car. Apply for commuter benefit, when denied, escalate and appeal.

When on calls in open space, purposely leave your phone off mute and let the background noise wash out the presenter. When muted, unmute yourself again.

Take advantage of “free” vacation days as sick days or caregiver days. Use the maximum.

Make this decision so costly and miserable for them that they have no choice but to roll it back. It takes two to tango, stink. This could be your biggest failure yet.

“Funny, but easier for them and better for business to just get rid of you and hire another know-nothing in your place. It might take a few tries but eventually they will find someone who wants to work and do a good job.”

Many of peoples want to work to does the job good. Many of the said know-nothing peoples are already doing the supervising of ticket to riding project. It is not of a good plan to have so many of the said know nothings on the train. The heidi conductor train lady can only be sounding of the train ho-n. Toot Toot the whistle blow from the mouth each and every one of the days. Many of other peoples on said train are the know nothing guy in kind. You can have of the know nothing peoples it is not good plan.

when moving around the building make sure you take short and slow steps can't risk an injury in company grounds and no need to rush

Always take your 2 - 10 minute daily breaks

if you see the Stank in the hallway don't forget to stare into his eyes but dont say a word

Reminds me of a seinfeld episode where they put cement powder in the wash machine. Not advocating cement powder in sinks or toilets, I’m just recalling an episode where cement found it’s way in a place where it didn’t belong.

And is probably someone who needs it the most!

Not looking forward to hunting floors for a seat everyday. It already happens now Mon-Wed. Thurs and Fri are a bit better. Leadership not assigning seats means they either anticipate a ton of people quitting by end of year or they want us to suffer that daily seat search. This is beyond ridiculous. Those non-union employees who drank the corporate media kool-aid over the past 40+ yrs of "unions are bad" now know what happens when we allow them to be destroyed and weakened. It impacts ALL of us in more ways than we realize (on and off the job).

RTO decisions should be left at an AVP level where they understand how to best work their organizations.

Geeezus. LFG.

I get the sentiment OP. All the struggles and unjust treatment while the Stink get private jets and the gold club treatment.

The caste system at T is strong and I would maybe join you because the more that do it the better results will be. Also maybe coordinate a sick-out week like teachers do and all employees stay home sick 1st week in January. Open to suggestions but make it hurt them. Punish punish punish.

Work 8 hours and 5 days. Is that what RTO will require?

You're going to be let go quicker than most if this is your plan (being a royal PITA to your Boss). That's kinda how that works. But good luck to you.

💯
This.
The key is to make this cost them as much money as possible while lowering productivity.
