Where's it written "8hrs" specifically in policy?
If they fire you, they do not have to ha e a reason or proof of anything. Texas is an "employment at will" state which means either party may separate employment for any reason without cause.
Translated, that means you can quit or be fired for any reason at all.
The laws governing the unions are quite different. We are the easy prey - the low-hanging fruit.

This is true in my department as well. Why are some managers not sharing this data?
They track badge swipes, vpn, lan, wifi and teams data. The hours are calculated based off a combo of vpn/lan/wifi and teams data. It’s grossly inaccurate for time reporting. Anyways, going to be interesting when they write up or fire people based off of inaccurate hourly reports. FYI don’t let your computer go to sleep or team icon show yellow.
