Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

MGO Town Hall

Loads of the usual happy talk but not a word about RTO and no questions. Not the best use of an hour IMO.

Any other thoughts?

Surprised no one mentioned the ‘FAIL’ stickers. I kind of understand the point, but oy. A lot of colleagues were rolling their eyes at that.

TA had one yesterday where the question asked was about assigned desk space. They completely ignorantly ignored the assigned desk space point and only yammered on about “collaboration”. Utterly embarrassing ineptitude.

They
Don’t
Care

They have assigned space and don’t care that you don’t.

The fact that we have two highest level leaders, responsible for marketing and no single highest level leader with sole responsibility for HR should tell you everything you need to know about how much the company cares about its people

You miss the point. The town halls, large meetings, online gatherings and conference rooms are not for meetings.

Those are designed to help praise on executives who can't survive without it. Those meetings are to convince them how great things are, not you.

They are weak and reckless people who prey on the employee for many reason and they think you owe them that.

Wake up.

“ This is actually really scary. I’m an MEP and this feels like a cult and gaslighting. I wish I never moved to Dallas…”

There is definitely a weird cultish vibe with Kellyn. It’s all sunshine and roses in these presentations while career growth stagnates and people are worried about getting axed

The happy talk is fine but they never ever acknowledge all the layoffs. She said that she wanted us to do the best work of our careers in the June thing a few weeks after a bunch of layoffs. They just did more layoffs right around Thanksgiving and now we get all this spin. They are completely in their own world. And after all this they mention psychological safety. How about starting by saying the layoff cr-p is going to end? Of course we know that isn’t true and that’s why I can’t take anything she says seriously.

“ RTO is old news. Why would it be mentioned at a town hall? We knew it was coming. It’s time to get back to a work focus.”

Well there has been no official information for MGO on timing, assigned seats or anything else other than mentions in team meetings. Given how much Kellyn loves to talk and BS that’s out of character. And given all the discussion still happening with even outside of the board, it’s definitely not old news unless you are one of the brown nosers supporting this idiocy.

If that conference in Dallas was a career highlight then you have not had much of a career
