Why would paying more manager bonuses make sense?

I hope my manager does get an extra $25K. He’s tired of the sh-t show and I don’t want to see him go.

Because we put up with team members b*tching and moaning about RTO, pretending to work from home, on leave for questionable reasons and trying to game the system. All of which resulted in mangers being individual contributors
