Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Urgent Business Sales

For the past few years, it feels like Midmarket leadership has been finding ways to make earning a decent income increasingly difficult. While the company continues to see growing profits, those of us on the front lines are earning less. They’ve made Step Progressions nearly unattainable, shifted to PxQ (a smart move on paper), yet somehow their “legitimate” results have skyrocketed while our paychecks have plummeted.

What’s next?!

Now, 2025 they’re going to take $10,000 from your base salary and move it to your “at-risk” compensation the bonus structure that, conveniently, no one ever seems to achieve. And if you don’t hit a specific attainment threshold? You’ll walk away with 0% of that at-risk compensation.

It’s clear this system isn’t built for us to win.

This is comical because they are already tightening their grip on the staff by the RTO and pushing touch points over good quality sales. Reminds me of Christmas vacation with the fruitcake of the month club right around X-MAS while John Stanley and his management goons are not getting pay cuts….

In regarding getting paid by a Solution Provider, I know one examples
of Mid Markets reps getting paid by Solution Providers. One current Sales Manager signed up his brother as a Solution Providers to pass sales to.

As you heard at the end of the JVB all, RTO letters coming out next week.... but she failed to mention along with your new pay cuts. We know it's coming.

Just find a solution provider to give your sales to help offset your small commission checks. In Mid Markets you can still split sales with Solution Providers where the split is 50/50. The Solution Provider will pay you under the table. I made an extra $35,000 one year working with a Solution Provider. I am sure the big Solution Providers such as Netspark and CC3 will pay you for your sales.

Buy Visa gift cards, activate lines to your agent code, get promoted after exceeding target, leverage new title to get sales job at T-Mobile before the disconnects happen.

10k taken from base and 15k added to the commission target. The employees under the threshold will not be paid and that $ goes to the top performers. Sounds like the great sellers are going to love this while the low performers are going to be pushed out.

This is the equivalent RTO play for sales divisions since RTO doesn’t apply to local market sellers. Remember, the end goal is still drastically reduced ATT employee headcount. It isn’t just Mid Market, across all sales divisions targets and expectations are moving so that 70-80% of sellers are below par. What was 100% performance a few years ago is now a mere fraction and considered badly failing. Less commission expense for the company, some will be terminated under lack of performance or committing fraud in order to hit outrageous goals, and they keep hoping many will find a job somewhere else. It also makes it easier to justify outsourcing sales to Solutions Providers. The next few years will be ripe for competitors to ramp up their sales force and take a lot of share. In some markets it has already begun, as revenues and net outcomes begin to drop exponentially.

T's compensation system (commissions) have always been a demotivator not a motivator.

Just a fact. ACES, Payee Web, etc never made anyone excited. Believe that.

The charge backs were the funnest.
