Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I personally don’t care about being laid off

I hate my job here so much that it would be a welcomed resolution to a toxic relationship. I’m scared of the future, worried about my livelihood, and anxious about prospects of finding another job. But I also reached the point where I would prefer working in construction to this demeaning, hopeless and ugly workplace.

OK cool. I'll draw back. Where there is smoke there is usually fire. Expose the fire and your heart will be grateful.

As you stated, all those things everyone knows about and, therefore, are not secrets. The secrets to be divulged are secrets.

"enjoy the pleasure of divulging all the secrets I know"
Oh please tell us. You will tell us that WF tech is doomed, not tested, will fail soon? Everyone knows that. That WF risk management is not baked into the systems, nothing but a policy book that WF paid billions for? Everyone knows that. That WF is years behind with multiple highly coupled siloed systems that need to be extensively redesigned if WF has a dream to make it in a cloud service / AI multi-agent data-driven managed systems. Everyone knows that.

Would WF really take away the very last silver lining to this horrible cloud? If they do, productivity will even dive lower, if that is at all possible. Time will surely tell.

1 week a year isn’t worth signing the legal release. I’d rather just enjoy the pleasure of divulging all the secrets I know. If they want me to stay quiet they will need to provide me a proper severance package.

Downvote the severance comment all you want, but it’s true. It is changing in early 2025. Straight from HR Sr. Exec.

Me too. I have been begging for a package. I don't want to have to wait another year to retire. I hope they give me my package soon.

Your current job can be fine. Your current manager can also be fine -- a non-bullying type. But that is now. Things will change. Your manager can and will change. Your job will change.
The goodness of your job is a probability. Look around. Weigh the probability of your career going bad.
Everyone has a backup plan. Even SH.

Unlike some others here, I definitely do not want to be downsized. If it happens, it happens. I actually love my job, I just hate the BS coming out of HY.

Severance is changing next year, count on it. One week for every year worked. Board has approved it.

That’s why they call it a Golden Ticket. Like Charlie Scarf and the chocolate factory.

I eagerly look forward to the eventual displacement of my job. The year-plus of relaxation and full-time upskilling means the next job is gonna pay a lot better. It's the best gift WF will ever give me.

If you consider this a relationship, wouldn't you just leave on your own terms? Why wait for the other party to initiate if it's that bad for you?
