Applying for jobs internally

Should I apply to jobs internally or move on to a different company?

Do you think you are a free agent at this bank? Managers are notified. They want to be sure to control you. Managers don't want to waste effort on you if they think you will leave. These managers are on top of their fiefdoms. Maybe you are a gluten for punishment.

Move on, you won’t get another dollar with a promotion. Why work for a place that constantly psyops its employees?

Managers are not notified
However don’t plan on getting raises by posting around.

Keep in mind that even though they include multiple locations they are likely only hiring in cheap locations. So if you see a job posted for Charlotte, New York, and San Francisco, they will only hire in Charlotte.

Why not both? It's worrisome that you are asking this question here.

Up to you, but unlike in the past, I believe managers are notified if apply for something else.

Just something to be aware of ...
