Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I'm more worried about layoffs

Do I want to RTO? He-l no. But between that and being laid off, sadly, I'd take RTO. I am happy for those of you who can afford to lose your job over this. I'm glad you have an option of not complying and risking it all. I don't have that option. So I've decided not to be too upset over it. I worked five days from the office before, I'll do it again. As long as I have a job, I'm good.

You obviously lack the skills to be able to move on somewhere and do remote work so you eat the $hit and pat yourself in the back. But you do you. We are losing talents left and right. We dont attract talents. Engineers and programmers are highly hireable somewhere, but if you are an old timer from mahh bell, then yes, wait this one out, you will be laid off 100%

Working at AT&T clearly does not make you a more attractive candidate at other companies. I’ve seen too many struggle to find jobs after being surplused

Most people saying they won’t comply or will just leave the company are trolls or big sh1t talkers that don’t have the sack to actually go through with it.

Most of my peers and others I have talked to aren’t happy about it, but we have brains so we saw it coming. Seriously, get real already. Every other company is doing this, AT&T is not doing this in a vacuum or leading the charge.

If you’re crying about having to actually go in to work, look around and think about how much worse things could be for you. You look and sound absolutely ridiculous to the vast majority of people that go in to an office to work. If you’re highly talented and marketable, then by all means go find a better opportunity.

I’m torn between two offers right now. It’s bad but not impossible.

There was a guy going in to the office 5 days a week before we even had RTO. Guess where he is at? Not at ATT.

“You believe complying will stop AT&T from eventually laying you off? Bless your heart.”

Trying to understand the logic of making a post like this.

Are you trying to give them more leverage?

Or is this just some kind of confessional that makes you feel better?

I know several managers who have now decided to move for T after initially planning to lie. They have been unable to find other jobs and now see moving as their best option.
