"... elsewhere in the US"

Yeah, mostly I&P.

"These decisions were not made lightly..."

Yes they were. Hudson Yards throws away employees with less care than throwing away a used condum.

"...the bank would not say whether it will retain a presence in Wells Fargo Center, Portland’s tallest building. Grossberg said an unspecified number of banking positions “may remain in the market.”

Translation: a few branch people and sales people might survive. Maybe.

"...the company said it will offer jobs in other states to many of the Oregon staff if they are willing to move."

"We work hard to identify opportunities for employees in other parts of the company so we can retain as many employees as possible."

All lies. Sure, maybe a couple of low level exec types, that wanted to move anyway, will relo as part of this whole thing but the vast majority will have no option to relocate. So as usual it's "about location", but isn't really about location.

FHY.

Oregon employees are happy about this. I feel sorry for those employees in San Antonio, Texas that will be replacing us.

Yeah, they actually work hard NOT to retain people. Over the last several years there have been countless occasions where employees that know the axe is coming beg to relocate, on their own dime, to a "hub" for their LOB and in the vast majority of cases those requests are denied. Keep telling me it's about "location". It's all a Fing lie.

Every employee was ordered by WF to start going into whatever building they are assigned to. Fast forward a few years and now we're being fired for being in the "wrong building", as if going at all was our idea. It's total horse S, and it all rolls down from a failed little man that can't report to a hub himself.

“We work hard to identify opportunities for employees in other parts of the company so we can retain as many employees as possible. Where it’s not possible, we provide assistance..”

Lies! Have they met their 1billion in severance yet?

What's the shifty part? They've been clear OR isn't around for the long haul.
