Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

If you had the opportunity to pose a genuine question at a Town Hall meeting.

If you had the opportunity to pose a genuine question at a Town Hall meeting, what would it be?

I will begin. This inquiry is directed towards any Leaders Town Hall.

Given the ongoing transition of jobs to I&P for cost-saving purposes, why is it not feasible to relocate upper management positions there as well? Wouldn't transferring, for instance, 4-6 management roles 2-3 levels below the CEO in each division, result in a significant financial savings, rather than reducing numerous lower-level positions?

Chuckles- If TK was not competent at her job, why hire another high priced buddy and still keep the incompetent TK and continue to pay her high salary when we need to find efficiencies. Also how much do we spend on propping her with her precious Most Powerful Women….. you know she is a joke to many in Charlotte and to those in the list.

Why not allow volunteers for layoffs? Or is the cruelty the cherry on top?

Mr Schart,

Why does your wife not allow you unsupervised in the city of San Francisco.

Why the constant turnover with our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) position? Are our regulators concerned with the constant churn in this organization?

Hey Shart, why don't you and Scotty go F each other instead of the kids on Epstein Island?

Hey Charlie when are you going to start honestly caring about the employees?

I wouldn't ask any question because I don't attend to any of those. BUT, if I did, they don't have any answer to anything I would ask because they:

  1. Need the question sent to them first so they can research and come up with some sort of palpable answer.
  2. They would start the answer with thanking me for my question, lay out some sort of high level progress toward the greater good and then pass it off to one of their minions on stage for a more direct explanation that doesn't address the core of my question.

Those town halls are all the same; It's recycle, rinse, repeat.

Mr. Scharf, can you say - definitively and without any hesitation - that you have brought the Wells Fargo shareholders $125M worth of value for a stock price that is 25% higher than when you were hired 5 years ago, after you have spent $63 Billion on buybacks - which is roughly 50% more than your peers - in that same time frame?

My question: Why are you the way that you are?

My question/statement.

It is perplexing that, in this environment, you require Branch Managers in CRG to reapply for their positions solely due to your desire to restructure once more and make recruiting a top priority. Meanwhile, you are willing to hire individuals in their twenties to manage the LI Market, despite their lack of experience and the personality of a damp piece of cardboard. This approach raises questions about the effectiveness of your recruitment strategy. Perhaps it would be more beneficial to appoint someone with the capability to successfully close deals. Please elaborate.

You can ask all the genuine questions you want already. But you’d never get a straight answer.

Why?

It’s not a Wells Fargo C Suite issue. It’s a Corporation C Suite issue. Big businesses simply can’t be run like a small, family business. It is exactly like politics, everyone will never, always be happy. Some one will always find some aspect of employment to take issue with.

There are some high ranking officers (they oversee I&P) R.Gupta, But if you sare speaking on decision making executives there are quite a few indian execs that sit in the US. Unlike JPM and Citi, Wells dont cater to the countries they offshore to. That would be something to explore.
