Former gte. Former bell Atlantic. Management non union employees. Wireless non union techs and engineers and management. Wireless retail. Soon to be former frontier. I believe there are mci, century link and XO communications. Who knows what else. We are all Verizon employees for over 20 years. We are all one team. BUT we can’t just move about the company and apply for other jobs seamlessly. It’s ridiculous.

I tried bridging my MCI time, but since I wasn't with either MCI or VZ at the time of the sale (2008ish?), it was denied.
Your service gets bridged for retirement purposes, not that that means anything anymore for non union employees, but you do not retain seniority - because YOU were acquired. The best bridge I saw was linking all of the predecessors to Verizon, plus some MCI time in service. It was a nice choice of the cash value or monthly pension check. Now that is no more. Bridging service means nothing anymore if you are not union.
I disagree. I worked for MCI for over 5 years and have made several attempts to bridge my time, it keeps getting declined. VZ recognizes my time with MCI, but my seniority dates is only with VZ, I have tried for almost 20 years.
Much ado about nothing. All fBEL, fGTE, fNYNex, fMCI had ALL of their service time bridge d by VZ when those firms were acquired. One fellow I know went from fNYN to fBEL, to fGTE and bridged more than 20 years once VZ was formed. If you prove you were there you are bridged.
