5 day RTO: has any C-suite addressed how they are going to handle over-capacity

In these town hall meetings or communication from chain-of-command supervisors addressed how overcapacity at our hub and satellite offices will be handled? Working at either Alpharetta or Lennox locations in Atlanta, we are already playing Hunger Games/Fight Club to grab seating on near-capacity days such as Tue./Wed. That's w/o a 5 day mandate. Has any management addressed this situation? Will there be assigned seating instead of this 'all seats are drop-in seats, no one has a permanent seat'? We already don't have offices, that was stripped away before the pandemic. We no longer have assigned space, that was stripped away in last year's RTO mandate. We were told last year by our VP that there should be enough space because the office will never be at 100% of the assigned personnel.

5 days a week, 8 hour/per day changes all that. Stankey and McElfresh, can you please address this issue? WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OFFICE SPACE AS IS. HOTEL SEAT ASSIGNMENTS AND 5 DAY RTO DO NOT MIX.

I was told Dallas has 3 floors for open seating. Any truth to that? I am supposed to report there on 12/2 but have not been given a seat assignment.

Also there is no other parking at Alpharetta. If you can't park in the lot, there's no street to park on or public parking lots.

"Company has zero requirement to provide you parking."

Good for you and your parking situation. I do find it interesting that you chose to pick this part of my post to comment on. What do you think about the buildings be overcapacity with RTO. I am guessing you will state that 'the company is not required to provide workspace - at my company we work in the stairwell.' Sure thing Mr. OneUpper.

There is zero thought behind these mandates. Last year when we were ordered to the office 3 days a week there was not enough desk spaces. Yet they had half a perfectly good floor blocked off and not available for use. The company was getting some sort of energy kickback. Hence, our manager said go back to WFO, try and come in once a month. Pick a day when you are most likely to get a seat.

So happy I refused my reassignment to Dallas and retired in June. Haven't missed it one day, but I enjoy reading this stuff. The dumpster fire continues.

It's a shame so many great and talented people were lost and more to come. Best to all of you.

Not worried about the seats. Worried about the damn parking at Alpharetta. If your shift starts at 10am, good luck finding a spot. Stankey wants us to k*ll each other and as--ult each other so we 1. Be fired. 2. Be arrested then fired. I asked my boss about assigned seating and he is clueless. If theres no talk about assigned seats, then there is none.

We saw it over and over with the 3 day RTO with a lack of capacity. Why would anything be different with the latest decision. They just want people to leave, so why make anything a positive experience? The worse it is, the more will leave.

Y’all don’t get it right? They are banking on attrition with RTO, 5 days in office, pay cuts, etc. That is in addition to planned layoffs, forced retirements and offshoring. There will be plenty of office space when T is down to ~80k headcount like VZ..

Hey, re--rd.
Paying a fee to park isn’t the same as the company not providing any parking.
Glad to have educated your dum--ss.

I’m in Dallas HQ and we will have 340 people assigned to our one floor expected to come in 5x a week. The floor has seating for 193, with even fewer monitors. I’m sure they’ll find a way to cram us in like sardines so we can all “collaborate” on one floor

I think that's why only L3/L4 were given the January 1 date for us. Everyone else is "on notice" while they hope to figure it all out when people start showing up in Atlanta.

"Is overcrowding real? I’ve heard a lot of excuses why we can’t RTO and I’ve heard peach tree has thinned out. Is Ackard 100% full? "

The midtown office doesn't have drop-ins and last I heard they were selling that building eventually so that's why it's thinned out.

Lenox is a nightmare on Tuesday and Wednesday. I've heard Alpharetta is similar but I've never been there.

I do wonder if building capacities have been changed legally since the buildings were constructed in the 90s at Lenox.

Is overcrowding real?

I spoke with a friend in CRE today about Lenox. She told me that there is not enough parking if all four building go to capacity. As well, the buildings cannot hold all the people they are planning to put in the buildings for 5 days a week RTO. They parking was based cube counts from 30 years ago. Since then the company has been making the cube space smaller and smaller to the point that we are basically working at lunch tables.

I’m in an office now at full capacity…no space for any more bodies and just heard that about a dozen or so people who would occasionally come in and use conference room space were told they need to come in 5 days come January. No other office within 115 miles..exactly where are they going to sit and work in our current location?

"Start coming in earlier to get a better seat. Things are not that complicated. "

Are you kidding me?! That's your answer?? Look, I already get into the office by 5:30am. Have to: have an hour commute w/o traffic, over 2 hours with traffic. Only way to handle the mess is to come in early. So far no way is it a problem to get seating but guess what -- it starts filling up by 7 am, 6:30am on those busy days particularly like OP stated on Wed. There's no seating by 9am on those days. If doing 5 days RTO then the 9am at-capacity starts becoming 8am, then 7:30am , etc.

This policy is the most asinine thing the company has come up with so far. "One shoe fits all" doesn't work, particularly for a large company like T. Stupid. stupid. stupid.
