Some people here are consistently pulling the weight of several employees, and yet there are others who barely do anything and are still around. When is Verizon finally going to clean house and get rid of the slackers who aren't contributing? It should have been done a long time ago, in my opinion.

I work in mtce and it’s a sh🤪t show.
Stop! You are making me snark! There is not a word of truth in that comment regarding rank and yank. Rankings are first based on the DEI quotient, followed by BrownNosiness ability, and then of course friends/family/favored-protectees. This company has not hired a serious telecom-focused manager in years. One day what occurred at the company during Hans and Blackrock's reign will be a great Harvard Business Case studied by MBA students.
managers rank their employees and lay off from the bottom of the barrel.
Skilled, caring, knowledgeable Customer Service Representatives are 'core' to the success of our business. While always day late and dollar short FP&A, and Legal who outsource anything and everything important, are nothing more than a drag on earnings. HR is nothing but a buffer and early warning mutiny system that has also outsourced any and all important functions that HR used to do themselves.
If you are not a customer-facing employee, and more than 5 steps between you and the executive suite then you will always be at risk of layoff at the company.
"Are you referring to the employees in basking ridge FP&A ? We like to work only a few hours a day doing the same work someone else does in the next seat."
Greater truths have never been spoken! It is insane that these groups even exist. There is absolutely no value added by FP&A. None. This is why they are always easy to layoff without any serious concern of impacting the business - Just a few less decks to ignore.
FP&A, HR, and Legal can be trimmed greatly with very little impact.
Call center representatives gotta go. They refuse to RTO and most of there jobs have been outsourced.
Never
you will be 1 of them

Chicken as a topping > salmon... 1000 island dressing > ceasar dressing. C'mon dude ...
We have a lot of BS Jobs at Verizon! Basically useless managers and ADs who do little to add value to the company.
My favorite salad is Caesar, topped with either chicken or salmon.
