Toxic boss

My boss used to be amazing but after a long, nonstop crazy amount of work within a year, I was burnt out and started doing things I normally don't. I had my 1:1 and spoke with her. She took everything personally and now after to get me. She talks sm--k about everyone so I know she's talking about me. I know everyone is replaceable and so am I. But I know if I leave, it'll be hard to replace me bc I am the SME on our team. I retain information, have a great amount of knowledge and connections. I am humble and took me some time to appreciate myself.

Today, she has pulled the last straw and I am at my wits end! I have a patience of a saint and never let her get to me but she has done too much in the last 4-5 months. I can't apply for a new role until the new year to meet my 12 months requirement bc of a unique situation. I've been working for her for a few years. Now she's a mean girl and it's mentally draining.

I can't afford to lose this job until a new one is lined up. What can I do?!

@eci I hope you are quietly quitting. I would look for another position at Wells. "she cheats". I suggest writing down the processes and the anti-processes. Then you can go to your two up or a BEC, or a risk guy and see if this process document is correct. Next, get it approved by them. Then you can have the "teachers pet" in trouble when she cheats.

I totally understand. I deal with a similar situation but mine also involves another employee. I don't understand how this other employee gets these managers to side with her. It's not just been one or two. It's been about 4 or 5 managers she's done this with. She's the "teachers pet" she's constantly going against the rules. We share incoming work and she cheats on how she does her work. I had my 20 year anniversary 4 months ago...my boss didn't even say congratulations or anything. She literally drives me crazy. I even started seeing a therapist but it's not helping because it's her not me!

Thank you to those who responded. I would like to respond to the 3 comments.

  1. My 1 year is coming up in the new year but I don't think I can last any longer. Trying to hold on as long as possible.
  2. HR won't do anything. They'll protect her over me and I am concerned it'll make things worse.
  3. You are correct, she has no boundaries and is a fake. I've tried to look at her as a good person but after turning on me, I realized she is a bully. She thinks because she's a bish, people are afraid of her. In reality, no one wants to deal with her because she can't articulate anything. Thank you for sharing the link!

"She talks sm--k about everyone". It sounds like your boss doesn't keep her boundaries very well. And she has or is starting to wear yours down... Wells Fargo is not a psychologically safe place to work.
The managers are made into facilitators and then into bullies.

Before you go to HR get into their system.
