Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The attrition based on 5 days RTO mandate

Will skyrocket, and this will surely be overdone. You already don’t have enough people to keep up the work in most groups.

You think people are going to be motivated to work HARDER for you to pick up the slack as headcount plummets.

This is the d-mbest decision ever made.

This company does not care about you. I was talking to someone whose young teammate died unexpectedly. When the family of the deceased finally got thru to someone in AT&T HR to report the death, HR alerted his boss through a teams message with a link on how to report the employee's death. No phone call. No concern. No offer of what resources are available beyond providing a link. Their whole compassion consisted of a brief teams message from HR. They do not care about you. Show them the same care and concern when you opt to leave.

"After nuclear war we'll still have cockroaches, and after 5 day RTO we'll still have whiners"

Of course they'll whine. Victim mentality.

You are overlooking the big picture, which is understandable given our jobs are vital to our lives and this situation creates a lot of stress and anxiety. This company is positioning itself to be sold. The grand old days of AT&T are over. They don't give a damn about talent, your opinions, feelings or whatever hardship their decisions inflict on you. It's big Wall Street business and employees are just a commodity. It's about the $$$ and positioning for the eventual sale of the company.

Your priority should be taking care of yourself and doing what's best for you and your family, because that is of NO interest to the current leadership. They have their marching orders.

If this wasn't the case, the BOD would have sacked Stankey long ago.

"It's kind of the point, all these policies, RTO, Self ReLO to Dallas, everything, designed to nudge people out, hopefully without paying a severance."

If you decline to move, you are paid severance. Fact.

People who accepted the move and didn't show up were either terminated without severance or chose to retire right near their report date.

It's kind of the point, all these policies, RTO, Self ReLO to Dallas, everything, designed to nudge people out, hopefully without paying a severance. They don't care about impacts to the company, they just want whatever that bottom line employee number is.

You know you aren’t going anywhere. More importantly, so does T. Get that as$ in a seat.

Not at all. T has a ton of lifers who will never leave and need to get back to full-time work.

Damn… to the same person posting about 5 day a week RTO, my guess is you are some sort of technician on the wire line side or a sales store person. You can already see that everyone sees through your lame attempts to make up nonsense.
