Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Abby, our pulse score collapsed

Management consultant: Abby, our pulse scores are the worst in 30 years. Associates feel bad, clearly.

Abby: What is to be done? I have already ordered them back to office 50%.

Management consultant: I shake in awe of thy wisdom. I too am surprised that greater time in our beautiful buildings aid not reflected in these figures.

Abby: But what is to be done about it!??

Consultant: Have you tried reducing the amount of snacks? If people spend more time at table rather than walking for snacks they may have less time to think negatively for the pulse survey.

Abby: Already tried that!

Consultant: Damn, you good.
Ok then. Have you considered abolishing your straightforward and usable fitness reimbursement program in order to adopt a convoluted, multi-tier subscription program that seems designed to geographically exclude most people?

Abby: That will save me a full 30 minutes
of work a year. Love it!!! Award this man 6000 chairman shares.

Abby!
You had everything and you still didn't propel women like you should have.
You're a disgrace to the female gender.

The sad thing is Abby torched her own legacy of empowering women in finance, many of whom have children and want to work from home. Because the legacy hires went too far and started blatantly discriminating based on executive presence, race and color and tossed all others off the deep end, well lawsuits have consequences and so do settlements. The reason she brought HR back them men, wasn’t because she wanted to, her hand was forced. At least she gets to keep her billions!

I love how she is so cost cutting focused this year yet thinks that laying off and eventually rehiring will have good outcomes. One of the worst CEO’s I’ve seen in my career. Already seeing multiple hiring in my space with horrible talent and probably getting paid the same.

There was no issue with getting a reimburse (for those who know how to read basic directions). The vast majority of this workforce can’t follow basic instructions.

They mentioned more than back to office. Glad I’m not the only one noticing the backs. Fitness reimbursement is sad but most people couldn’t figure out how to be reimbursed. Maybe they should have researched that first and fixed it.

The problem is not people being in the office. If you think people are only upset about their physical location, you really shouldn’t even comment. There are so many other factors like how we were brainwashed into thinking bat sh-t crazy stuff is professional.

It’s about being around people I would never let my children around, but I have to sit next to this creep and smile at his s-xist jokes because I’m in the office. I have to deal with being harassed and no matter how loud I have my music in my noise cancelling headphones I still hear my coworkers bi--h about having to go on government benefits.

Abby had a good run, it’s obvious that sr management was fighting her before we came back in September. The inclusivity hires were able to run the show.

Wow! I’m still shocked things aren’t working out. Hiring inexperienced and unskilled workers in tech roles or literally anything else and expecting things to go well is pretty d-mb. Abby herself is an inclusivity hire, no wonder she can’t run the company.

sigh... snacks, fitness reimbursement... did peanuts like these really bring out the nastiness and whining babies in you? Have you worked in other places that's much worse?

Working from home is a benefit not a privilege, certainly not a right. Two full weeks onsite is too much for me and I'm leaving this place if it's further increased. But the company must set a number right? 3, 2, 1.9, 1.8, 1.5, 1.2, 1... I have to say two is not that outrageous.
