"Lunch? Who takes lunch? I have not taken a lunch in 15 years....No one does these days."
Stop. The only reason this may be true is you are skipping out of the office early every day.
I was told last week (in ACE) that they are now tracking hours in the office and the expectation is eight. Time to step my game up.
Lunch? Who takes lunch? I have not taken a lunch in 15 years....No one does these days..Yogurt at my desk while on a call.
7 to 3 on my office days. That’s eight. Good enough
That is not eight unless you're skipping lunch; per federal regulations, meal breaks are unpaid.
RTO has nothing to with any reports. It was the plan all along. T is following orders, along with many other large corporations. Just like a year ago when they mandated 3 days back in the office to begin on September 7, many other large organizations also sent the exact same letter, with the same effective date. I don’t claim to know what it’s all about, but it stinks.
My AVP said that effective immediately she has to be in 5 days a week full time.
This is true. I am that AVP. If I have to then so will all my subordinates.
Federal law also says if you work through lunch, then you get paid. Read the whole thing.
Guarantee homeboy isn't working through lunch everyday he's in the office.

"While you're whining, there's someone overseas who wants your job more than you do, will work for fewer benefits, and will be more productive than you are."
Overseas workers are being asked to provide referrals to fill the expected seat vacancies.
"maybe shutdown VPN access for the first quarter and see how things shake out "
omg ki-l the entire oncall support structure....this is so smart this must be stinky posting. Brain as smooth as a bowling ball I swear.
8x5 or 40 hrs a week, no more no less. like most are getting paid for
Exempt managers are expected to give as much time as the company needs.
Remember: Needs of the business overrides everything else.
To All asking, yes the reports show daily and week by week hours in office and separate column for hours on vpn during the day. The in-office starts with the time you badge in, then adds in time on LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity, but Dallas and other Hub offices are also invisible fenced or geo surrounded for COU tracking as well. And it’s continuous hours, so unlike an hourly employee it doesn’t assume you took lunch.
There is nothing on reports for when you are on COU, working Nights or Weekends, taking after hours calls, traveling or driving for work, or for working offline on your laptop or iPad. And nothing when you are in the field locations like stores or garages or at events at clients or vendors or even community or ERG events.
All of that doesn’t count towards your alleged Stankey measures of productivity at all.
That is what my leader shared with us when asked.
Heard ATL offices are only set up for 70% capacity. So the other 30% just have to sit on the floor I guess?

My AVP said that effective immediately she has to be in 5 days a week full time. She hasn’t heard officially for the rest of the org but assumes it will be 40hrs in office come January. She said she’s seen reports that are more complex than before on presence - badge swipes, vpn, etc. We gave her feedback about needing assigned desks.
8 hours in the office 5 days/week and unlimited additional hours from home.
Is there any hourly data in the presence report? Compliance with the presence report is what leadership in my org goes by.

The policy doesn’t have an hour requirement at this time but I suspect when they change the definition of NFTO to 5 days a week they will also put an hour requirement.
We shall see. Enforcement of the hour requirement varies greatly it seems. That will end eventually and everyone will have to fall in line.
“There is NO attendance policy at AT&T. There has been no hourly requirement for salaried employees. And until they create one it will be hard to enforce rules that don’t exist.“
This is true, and I completely agree.
There is NO requirement to be in an office for 8 hours a day.
If I do 6 hrs in the office and 2 hrs at home. That’s my 8 hours.
You cannot punish employees for rules that have never been established either verbally or written.
As it stands now, I am still 3 days a week with no hourly requirement. Down vote this all you want. It’s still a fact.
While you're whining, there's someone overseas who wants your job more than you do, will work for fewer benefits, and will be more productive than you are.
"There is NO attendance policy at AT&T. There has been no hourly requirement for salaried employees"
Hard to believe AT&T actually hires these nitwits
I do the 6 to 8 range when I go in.
If they want to punish people for not following rules they need to state the rules.
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
At-Will.
At-Will Who?
At-Will Employment.
“There is NO attendance policy at AT&T. There has been no hourly requirement for salaried employees. And until they create one it will be hard to enforce rules that don’t exist.”
This is 100% false. This is why RTO and presence reporting is expanding.
It looks like a distrustful babysitter's rule.
Get out while you can...after the package they owe you of course.
Good luck.
Assuming you are salary.

It would be like the company letting you go because you didn’t wear a suit to work. If they want to punish people for not following rules they need to state the rules.
AT&T knows the majority of Americans, not just employees prefer work from home. In the event of a termination for not following a policy that doesn’t exist the company would probably be taken to court for wrongful termination. A group of 12 average Americans would have to decide are they for the “little guy” who followed the rules or the corporation who never gets their service or billing correct.
I’ve heard under 6 is what they’re looking for but yeah nothings in writing. Should probably ask your boss.
I’ve heard anything above 6 and you’re fine. Of course nothing is in writing so who knows?
"My supervisor is fine with the 4 hours."
You have that in writing? And are you 100% confident they will stand up for you when C-Suite comes a calling?
@fpy+1vkX0kbb Same, i come in real early so its pretty nice and quiet
I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m working 4 hours in the office until they tell me otherwise. My supervisor is fine with the 4 hours.
