Fathom, measured by a sounding line, even AT&T stock is recently doing much better and is forecasted to do better contrasting VZ, simply gauging share price. Clearly, it is all about the VZ share price as derived by all of the corporation's internal and external, variables and factors.
@dps+1vlqXOlS: 22 years postmortem, never should have been an union in existence, Bell Atlantic, NYNEX, nor GTE. And no union when it was Ma Bell, T, the AT&T, when 1 in every 10 workers were employees in the USA.
@1xns+1vlqXOlS: to your rebuttal to me @tga+1vlqXOlS -- I am an immigrant, aka, foreigner, well-educated and paying an abundant of taxes without any entitlements, having fidelity and integrity.
@2sne+1vlqXOlS: what does Prudential have to do with anything??? The Prudential is only a company handling the transactions based on decisions made by the VZ C-Suite and/or blessed by the incompetent VZ's Board-of-Directors, who need to immediately find a new CEO.
After this election..the Union is surely toast. A lot of the membership voted for him. The laughter between Trump and Musk discussing how they would fire striking workers was tell tale. Retirement is up in the air..the stock @40 ..the lump sum in the tank..targeted offers..with the attack on SS & Medicare sure to come. Just keep working as long as you can..your Golden years might be spent clocking in.
Second last post is right ,we are lucky to have a contract at all and still have a pension for hires before 2012 . Our side of the industry make less then 5 percent of Verizon profits . Be ready for a strike 8-3-26 cause it could happen easy and also the Lum Sum option is gone for sure with Prudential taking over . Verizon did that cause they don't deal with Lum Sums much . Or you can not believe the truth that I am saying and be like a ostrich with head in sand . The choice is yours !
I hope this new sheriff in Town keeps his word and starts taking away the cwa and ibew right to bargain . Or tells verizon to replace everyone if they go on strike. It's time someone starts chipping away these unions and he is the man to do it
Be thankful you have a job.....You don't like your job, find another before your to old and no one wants you.
@tga+1vlqXOlS Sorry pal! Many Americans just stopped caring because they witnessed much of their hard work taken and given to foreigners or stolen by 'elites' bringing in the foreigners for cheap labor. The USA used to be a meritocracy but H1B and Blackrock & friends brought an end to that American Dream. Fortunately, a new American Sheriff coming to town, and the company its executives, and the board will have many questions to answer.
OP: indeed, at VZ, all of the CWA, every member, should be displaced.
@doq+1vlqXOlS: you can disagree, but the US workforce is unqualified to even do a par job - due to lack of work ethic, lack of education, and lack of self-starters.
Boeing is a company that is doing well? lol what world are you living in? It’s not 1983 anymore. Airbus has now for the last 5 years in a row been beating them in aircraft orders & deliveries. They were once a laughing stock bastion of European socialistic overreach, bloated regulation, bureaucratic red tape, etc. Roles have been reversed. Now they’re building safe, fuel efficient models of planes that airlines want, and they can deliver, without losing focus, like what happened to woke Boeing with their planes falling out of the sky and soon to be rebranded (no matter what they just publicly announced) emphasis on dee eee eye nonsense initiatives
No love for the Union from me, but you can’t compare. Boeing is a company that is doing well, Verizon is on the struggle bus. Tough to get blood from a stone.
CWA didn't have a backbone 22 years ago when I left them. They su-ked back then and are much worst now.
All they care about is collecting the dues and looking out for those that cause problems with other members or have questionable moral behavior. Everyone else that works hard, they ignore. CWA used to be a great union. 1989, they did what they were supposed to do. Now its like flushing you dues money down the toilet. D-mb to agree to removing that letter of protection. Hence why many of us left as we are better off on our own.
Yippee! More of those trustworthy 737 Max’s to come! And Dee Eee Eye in another form. Oh joy!
Wow!!! Bigger raises , Bridge All legacy companies pesions, New hires should get pensions!!! Makes no sense new union hires have no pensions. These are just the beginning
