Global phone sales in steady decline

I was at he phone store in the mall in a big city on a saturady. Also went on a friday. I saw every phone store empty except for the store workers. It doesn't matter which telco of the three it is. Nobody want's a new phone. I don't want a new phone. I just wanted to see what is really happening. From that we can tell what will happen to telco in the next yrs to come.

People are avoiding the AI phones. The recent Apple release did not go well. People do not trust AI yet.

most normal people buy their products online now. Why do you think the company was cramming using the app years ago. Pavlov was teaching the dog then - to create the market that is now.

Foot traffic in my area is also way down. 2-3 I have actually been in had little to no foot traffic the few times I have visited them. The others seemed to only have enough vehicles parked to seem like it was mostly employees. Apple Store is usually busy but even they don’t seem crazy like a couple of years ago. Can usually find a reasonable parking spot and those 30+ minute waits are now half that most days.

Maybe people are waiting for Black Friday sales.

I have had my phone for 9 years. My friends in different states also have had phones for over 12 years. I doubt most people are spending 700 to 1200 on a phone nowdays every few years. I expect the phone stores to continue to be empty. That is making sense now, since qualcomm stopped producing more and reduced its company size. The manufactures are cutting production due to future projections.

Sales are so great they have give away phones when they launch to keep you a customer. Really there’s nothing new in the device space that makes me want to get a new phone. I swap them every 3 years and get the next free one.

I don't know - every time I pass the Apple Store in the mall it is packed!

The youths don’t need or want to stand in line in a retail store. The retail stores are basically for confused boomers that don’t know how to set up their voicemail.

The stores by me are always packed. To the point, the wait line is so long, we are losing business when people walk away. They're quoting people an hour or two wait.

This is factually incorrect lol, steady incline of smartphone sales globally at ~1500 Million devices annually however I am sure anecdotally you are correct.. Foot traffic and sales in retail stores could very well be down. Do away with COR stores and grimy salespeople and managers slamming customers with next up and home tech protection.
