Is there a way to somehow avoid three people worth of work being piled on you? I’m relatively new to T. I either feel subtle pressure to work harder or I’m often outright tasked with stuff I simply can’t complete within regular hours or by deadline unless I add time. I always come home late and exhausted. I figured that’s the culture, but some people somehow always weasel out.

the more you do, the more work you will get. Learn to push back and let the ball drop.
Wish I could post meme’s here, but the first time meme seems fitting. Yeah, in some groups that’s just standard operating stuff (for the field guys, no we don’t get OT or comp days and hourly make less than you). Didn’t used to be like that, but with all the cut cut cuts, it became normal. Also better get your 8 hrs in office minimum, no credit for WFH extra. My advice OP, find another job, it won’t get better. This place used to be a great place to work, now it’s worse than any other place I’ve ever worked. Way more hours, low pay, and just a bad culture and leadership.
Beatings will continue until morale improves.

Uh another fake post trying to stir sh*t
Real simple solution, quit. No one wants to hear how hard you work and how awful it is to get paid and actually be expected to work.
watch how they weasel out and learn from them. You don't have to be as low a producer but some of their tactics should be used. Managers with direct reports just want the work completed. They will just move on to the next high achieving pony if you get worn out. I hope you survive.
Ask your supervisor for some overtime.
