RTO 5 days week confirmed

RTO 5 days a week is happening in ATS start of new year.

Can anyone in public sector confirm they have to do RTO 5 days /week?

Not true for all ATS, under Greene there’s no date and certainly not beginning of the year. Of course I expect the mandate to come at some point but it’s not Jan 1. I wish people would stop ‘speaking for everyone’

“Going into work 5 days and scrambling for parking and desks is better than being fired.”

Is it? I’ll take severance and find something where work/life balance and being treated like an adult matters.

The renovations that are being done at Lenox are removing all the cubes and putting in the 3x5 tables.

So we've gone from having an office, to having a cube, to being crammed together like the kid's table at family holidays. This is the new sweat-shop environment. No privacy, no space, everyone on the assembly line like cogs in the machine.

Legg will go back to working in the closet as he really won't have a desk.

If you are in Alpharetta, install cameras on your car. I parked on south end and my car was broken into. My walther was stolen along with some laptops. left a huge mess, broken glass and cut up my seats

Alpharetta here. Parking is not enough for the employees that report there. This is a fact. Go there on Tuesday between 9 -10am, you will not have a parking. I know I tried. I asked my boss if we would have resignated seat, NOPE. So 5 days hauling laptop on to random seat, and pray that I get parking. I cannot come in any earlier than that. I support a market that is not there at 6am, 7am.

'“Mondays and Fridays there are lots of empty seats currently.”
This is why the RTO edict is changing to 5 days. Metrics have confirmed many employees regularly take 4-day weekends.'

WTH?! Working from home is a 'weekend'?! Ge-z. Grow the F- up! For us responsible adults who do not act like children it's when we can FINALLY GET WORK DONE because going into the over-crowded, noisy as F- office with 5 hours of sleep the night before because need to commute prior to the rush-all-day traffic known as Atlanta -- I can finally think undisturbed at my home office where all my equipment works and there is no noise. For those of us that actually need to concentrate: Monday and Fridays are when I get my work done. The 3 RTO days are just an exercise into madness until an actual work day arrives.

" shouldn't there be enough parking for the office space in the building?"

That is the interesting part about this RTO and trying to slam all of us into fewer buildings. They are going to put us in smaller desks but they cannot build more parking, and Alpharetta and Lenox are not convenient to mass transit. The buildings that had great mass transit was the midtown complex, and they sold those buildings . . . superior thinking. I wonder if occupancy standards have been officially updated to allow ATT to stack us into the building. They are having to add an elevator to the 1025 building because there are so many people.

I'm the one who asked ""Any idea about Alpharetta?". I go there three days a week now. From on the ground I wouldn't say the building is "packed", although it gets a bit crowded on more popular days (Tues/Wed, mostly). But parking on those days is a nightmare.

It didn't make sense to me - shouldn't there be enough parking for the office space in the building? - until someone pointed out to me that when the building was built most people had cubes, so there was more space per person.

Parking at Alpharetta runs out around 11. A notice was emailed out about people illegally parking because drumroll….there is NOT enough parking spots. It’s only going to get worst

"Any idea about Alpharetta?"

I have a contact in CRE so I hear things occasionally. My contact has not mentioned anything about Alpharetta as their desk is at Lenox Park. The only thing I have heard about Alpharetta is that they are already packed. I am not sure if renovation's are planned for those buildings.

@etg: you sound like you actually know something about the real estate situation at Lenox. Any idea about Alpharetta?

"Does anyone know if there’s enough room in Atlanta and Dallas for 5 day RTO"
"We were told there’s capacity for 70% of people at Lenox and Alpharetta"

The renovations that are being done at Lenox are removing all the cubes and putting in the 3x5 tables. So, there is not room yet but there will be. 1057 is not expected to be finished until Summer 2025 so 5 days will probably not happen until then. They still have to figure out parking since that is the one thing ATT cannot increase for obvious reasons. The Atlanta folks received a parking warning today basically telling us if we do not park correctly they will tow us.

If there’s 70% capacity are they planning on doing a mass layoff in Nov/Dec in order to make room for those of us who remain for the 5 day RTO in Jan?

There is room for everyone, but it is to your advantage to come in early to get better parking and first choice of desk space in Atlanta.

So. This is all about destroying and decimating IT. ATS is IT.
Business IT groups are not ATS and are exempt from this nonsense.
At least we can all be happy that our resident CTO in training gets to be tormented by the fact that his party lost Atlanta. hahahahahaha.
