I left the company several weeks ago I got the 6 months severance( used to be a year), pension ( which gets absurdly low if any increases), and decent retirement gift but let's not forget all the benefits that were stripped away over the years.
It feels amazing to be free of this company. Before I left there were days that I never heard English being spoken at the office I drove into.. Nobody in my team was in the building that I went to and they didn't need to be because all the work is done on the laptop. If I wasn't staring directly at my laptop I was not productive. I wake up everyday now not having to shake my head back and forth at the stupidity of the top leadership. The ball headed genius that somehow is still charge in spite of huge failings is calling plays he drempt up when he was in therapy for narcissistic personality disorder. This company has been around since the late 1800's and it's still a low 20's stock. All the things this ball headed bozo is doing is intentional because his ego can't take the harsh criticism levied on him. Everyone wants him to be gone yesterday but yet he stays to unnerve as many as he can.The toxicity you feel wrests squarely on the shoulders of the ball headed bozo. It starts with him and trickles down to his puppets just beneath him.

Sounds like you have 30+ years of service. Congratulations for not dying on the job.
The genius also threatened me and my family if I didn't expose my arm to the shot during covid. The choices were to feed my family or tell him to pound sand when literally no company was hiring anyone. None of us had a realistic choice. I consider it a direct threat to my children and will handle it accordingly.

Welcome to the real world. I share your Joy and newfound happiness. I was on pins and needles because of my learned distrust of AT&T, concerned they would invent a way to sc--w me over one last time on severance or pension. When I finally had all my funds in hand I was on cloud f’ing nine. Finally rid of the smell of decaying immorality oozing from that corporate cesspool of degenerate leaders. Turned my stomach on most days as I watched them f-over beautiful soul after beautiful soul. Good riddance and welcome to your new beginning.
