Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Why are we having layoffs when toxic office politics are driving people away?

The atmosphere here is too combative, and interdepartmental politics have way too much sway over big decisions. No wonder the best ones are all leaving fast. The ones who stick around get stuck with double the workload, plus the extra burden of training new hires who aren’t exactly the most qualified. AT&T is a certifiable mess right now.

who cares about phones. not to worry or cry much. let the layoffs accelerate. join the army... join the navy... you won't loose your job there. nobody cares about telco now. All they will care about is the war industry. The only place to go now is that. Start to use your phone less or just throw it away and cancel the line. We don't need it where we are gonig next..

The worst aspect of RTO is the company being unprepared (still unprepared) and allowing it to drag out.

"People say they want to leave, but the Stink won't pay a decent severance"

Have you, or anyone in your bloodline, been evaluated for mental illness?

Stinky has one mission. Do what the stakeholders tell him to do. He is loyal to only the stakeholders. Why? He is short-term as CEO. Close to retirement and he needs to bag those promised bonuses. He is a business man. Did I like the environment before him? Yes, it was a healthier place to work, not toxic. Business is businesses and that’s why many, if not most CEO actually have sociopathic tendencies. They would never sleep at night if they couldn’t separate what they have to do to other human beings in the name of business.

People say they want to leave, but the Stink won't pay a decent severance. Besides, Stink would rather not pay any severance at all, and just make it a more toxic environment with RTO, move to hubs, or the Stink's favorite - sending jobs to India...

People say they want to leave but yet they stay. Just a lot of hot air, really.

AT&T has been doing layoffs every year for the last 25 years. It is not going to change.

Thanks to leadership. The sleepy Wards of the AT&T world allow the minion AVPs to duke it out because all they have in the tank are 5 cent brains with no wisdom, strategy, vision or technical knowledge to drive anything anywhere. VPs are glorified status aggregates and chest pounders. F you Sleepy Ward.
