Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Before you go

I began following this forum shortly after RTO and Hub consolidation were announced because I suspected the "cream of the crop" would show up here. It has not been disappointing. Before you get shtcanned, how about telling the rest of us where you worthless fcks found to hide out all these years? I'd really like to know because I've never seen anyone with the dispositions shown on this forum last more than 3-4 months.

"my client is asking for an immediate judgement for the sum of 3.5 million dollars for the reckless application of unproven technology"

Dear Perry Mason
Kinda thinking here that the violation of multiple policies over multiple weeks makes a solid case for termination in any company.

“All of you malcontents have "Tells" which show in your day to day behaviors. Extremely effective in identifying employees who can be terminated”

Long time reader here but this has me posting for the first time.
What exactly does AT&T expect of their employees? Are they expecting robot like efficiency in human psychological movement? Are they demanding machine like computational thought and throughput? Just fire the people like you’re already doing.
The end result is not going to be this super army of Ritalin induced hyper performing employees. So what’s the point?

“Corroborative validation in testing was able to substantiate an average of 7 violations of company policies per day per employee in one segment, a solid case for termination.”

“Corroborative validation” lol. Are you serious? lol.
Your honor, my client is asking for an immediate judgement for the sum of 3.5 million dollars for the reckless application of unproven technology resulting in the firing of my client. Your Honor has heard from several key witnesses that “corroborative validation” is nothing more than “corroborative hearsay” predicated on biased data trained with biased intent and without full transparency required by this court of law.”

“I was involved in the evaluation of that cr-p product. None of the people on the evaluation team recommended it but CSO had to push it through because AT&T has a stake in that company.”

And the money laundering continues. Funneling profits from T and shareholders into leadership pockets. Leadership has LLCs. The LLCs invest in the little AI company. The little AI company receives big money contracts from T. Leadership cashes out. Real class act.

"Probably yet another scheme to throw money at a company in which leaders from T have an investment in"

Yet another false post. It is known as customer-segmentation, but applied to employees. It identifies distinct groups based on behavior. All of you malcontents have "Tells" which show in your day to day behaviors. Extremely effective in identifying employees who can be terminated for cause vs having to pay a severence. Corroborative validation in testing was able to substantiate an average of 7 violations of company policies per day per employee in one segment, a solid case for termination.

In plain sight. Just throw your headphones on, pull up a spreadsheet or two, do something that’s kind of work and no one bothers you. I mean I have to sit there for 8hrs. I get my job done in about 2hrs or less per day, have about 3hrs of meetings other people scheduled (most should have been an email or teams chat), bathroom break (cause that coffee kicked in), grab lunch, sit at the open office desk and try to find something to occupy my time. I’m just bored most of the time, there isn’t a challenge. Cream doesn’t rise to the top in a sewer, but the turds sure float. Thats where you are OP, a sewer. If you were smart, you’d realize just how poorly run this place is, you would quit caring what others do, you’d probably have a good idea how to actually fix it, but realize no one cares what you think or will listen, when you hit grand slams, you get nothing extra (no extra bonus, no raise, no promotion), so no sense in bothering. Just keep it rolling and move on. All they care about is you came in 3x per week and did 8. That’s the only metrics that currently matter and that have any impact on your career.

“Fortunately the company begins rooting them out in Feb 2025”
“What is happening in Feb 2025?”

I already told you. T gave a bunch of money to that company “Unsupervised Learning” under the guise of obtaining additional insights for efficiency and job cuts.
D-mb as it sounds, the reality is they have been throwing bodies into the wood chipper with caveman thinking and almost no insight except the notion publicly stated as “our company needs to get younger”. So why the boatload of money to Unsupervised Learning to suddenly care about insight and precision surrounding future layoffs.

Probably yet another scheme to throw money at a company in which leaders from T have an investment in.

Bwwaaaahhhaaahhhaaa… oh sure. Do you think that garbage AI company they hired and poured millions into a contract are really going to provide truly insightful data in which to terminate careers? Stupid. Very stupid. Why root people out in Feb 2025 anyway? You’re already throwing them out the door, why wait.

I come in late with the look of stern determination. I set my stuff down and disappear to the bathroom for thirty minutes minimum checking news, instagram, and playing a few rounds of Clash Royale.
I then go back to my cube and disinfect and set up at a pace that would make a one legged snail envious. I finally join whatever call is in progress, or not, telling them some bs about a conflict or previous meeting running over.
After the first half call of the mid-late morning, well you know this guy right here needs to go do some face to face collaboration. After all, that, that’s the whole point isn’t it?
I choose my first collab subject - the constant weather complainer. Then I might jump over and walk past the know it all sports junky. I don’t have the slightest care about fitting these collaboration sessions into a work friendly schedule. If the collab sessions end before the start of another virtual meeting then great. If not, I will slide right in as I did before.
I bet you can guess what time it is by now. You got it buster boy. Lunchy wunchy. I can tell because the early waft of curry and juttering sounds of slamming microwave doors is already in full chorus. I re-arrange my cube to make it look like lunch is in full swing although I don’t really eat lunch. It allows me to sc--w off some more and if someone walks by they can see it’s my sanctioned down time.
Don’t you worry about that laptop idle time or keyboard strokes. I have that covered.
After about an hour I join one last meeting with our fellows overseas making much use of the local in-office super special collaboration electricity. I really do feel like the collaboration is different on MS Teams while plugged into the outlet in the office. Who knew. Oh wait. What’s this? A bonus two-hour meeting? No can do OP. I will take one hour in the office while completely distracted packing everything up and take the other half on the car ride home as it’s rounding 3pm.
Hide? Who’s hiding.

Sr. VP here. Where do I hide? In my ivory tower.
Occasionally I hide in the glaring, piercing light that glances off of Johns shiny chrome dome. Although if I’m honest, last week I found an especially stealthy place to hide under the cover of that clueless, rubber backboned, lying loser of a CTO and the rainstorm of runny fe--s that pours out of his mouth every time he speaks. Who can ever be seen cloaking behind that abysmal mess of sl--e.

I hide behind my L4 title. Just take calls all day and dish out the work to my L3s and L2s. Sure I sit in meetings all day, but it’s not that bad. Just toss any real work over the wall to my grunts. Take credit when it’s good and blame them when it’s bad. Easy.

Hello moldy crack scratcher OP.

Speaking for myself, I hid in plain sight. With id--t leadership running around lying to VPs and VPs passing the lies up the chain, justifying project and program overruns with nonsensical reasons, the Swamp continued to be safe and sound. You see $hithead, it never was a Swamp. It was the Swamp creators (Id--t non technical brain dead zombie leaders) that were always to blame.
So ki$$ my a$$ and try and catch me not doing any work you loser. You will soon realize that it is you that needs to be $hitcanned.
